Hotel Sogo - Mindanao Ave. — Hotel in Quezon City

Wife and I went to go see Garrote, Sacrosanct, Paganfire and Pathogen play at the Scream Bar in Quezon City yesterday and we ended up leaving pretty late.. After midnight, no busses..

So we ended up staying at this SOGO location, we've stayed at RedDoorz, Mannra and One Serenata Hotels before, but this was the first time at SOGO.. I always see their signs and advertisements all over Manila.. For a 12h stay, it'll run you about 1300 and 1700 for 24h stay.

We stayed 12h and the room was clean, very nice, fresh sheets, 2 large pillows, vast food menu with plenty to eat and drink, great portions! Friendly staff! Hot shower which is always a plus for me! The room had all the nice things you'd expect for a hotel.

However, the biggest reason I've given SOGO 5 STARS is because they accept CARD for not only booking, but for FOOD!!! So many other hotels including RedDoorz don't accept card.. Maybe GCash but it was super convenient to be able to pay with card.. So, we will totally stay...

Okay, this is it!, while having checked-in here. My brother and I experienced the odor from smoking cigarettes of the hotel previous customer. I then called to their front desk she answered that she will send assistance. Yes, we received assistance, however, it took a second call before the assistance came, at first the housekeeper sprayed Air freshener, but still after few minutes, the odor was still there. 😅. This time I ask if I could get soap, because we don't have it. We were stranded motorist due to orange warning rainfall. The front desk said we will send to you. But, until I requested after overnight of staying in my third time of call 😅. Thank You for the discount and accomodating us! However, we experienced poor service. STORY TIME: Shout out sa Hotel Sogo Mindanao Avenue Branch. Sa gitna ng bagyo, baha at kawalan ng kuryente at tubig, my partner and I decided na magcheck-in muna sa hotel dahil kawawa ang anak namin at pamangkin, napakainit talaga ng bahay namin dito sa Deca Homes Meycauayan. Searching for a hotel within the area, pinakamalapit na ang Mindanao Avenue and we decided na sa Sogo na lang magcheck-in at magpalipas ng gabi. Dumating kami sa sogo and assisted by mabait and assistive na guard sa parking. Pagpasok namin ng lobby and reception area. I immediately seek for assistance ng staff and asked them kung meron silang for family na room that can accommodate 3 adults and 2 kids (me and my partner, my partner’s mom, our son (7yo) and nephew (6yo). The guy staff replied na meron however good for 2 adults and 2 kids lang daw. Sinabi nga namin na we are 3 adults and 2 kids. So he told us na mag-add daw ng 100 for extra pax, we agreed. However, this lady staff na madumi ang utak asked us in exact words… 2 PO KAYONG LALAKI, ISA LANG ANG BABAE? Nag-init ang ulo ko talaga and told her na Ate, Nanay namin ang kasama namin, mag partner kami at may kasama kaming 2 bata.. Ganyan ka talaga magtanong? Napakalaswa ng utak mo! She answered me na sinusunod nya lang daw ang protocol. So protocol pala nila na ganun sila mag-isip sa mga nagchecheck-in sa sogo. Na pupunta lang don para mag jug. We explained to them our story na binaha at brown-out lang kaya we ended looking for a hotel na malapit. After that this lady staff na malaswa mag-isip asked for our IDs and even questioned kung bakit kami magkakaiba ng surname.. my partner explained to her na our mom uses surname nung dalaga sya na nasa ID rin naman ng partner ko as his middle name. Ang nakakainis dito grabe ang pagsita nya sa min to think na may kasama kaming 2 menor de edad. Grabe! Ending nastress na lang kami and ngayon we are eating our stress sa Jollibee NLEX and after this uwi na lang ulit ng Deca expecting na sana magka-power na.

Nakakainis lang! Sana sa SOGO wag puro kalaswaan ang mga nasa isip nyo. Ganyan ba talaga ang service ng hotel nyo? Na dapat puro pangkalaswaan lang? Alam ko may commercial kayo dati na for family din kayo. Kaya kami nag-decide na jan sana matulog.
