I stayed at the Spring Hotel in Pinatubo Street, Cubao QC that was arrange by OWWA as a quarantine facility from 23-Sep-2021 to 02-Oct-2021. ||||Cleanliness: Not what you would expect from a quarantine facility, sanitation is very poor, and expect bugs and roaches to be crawling as there are a lot of small and medium cockroaches. ||||I had to repack my luggage as I made the mistake of keeping my luggage open on the floor and the small cockroaches manage to go inside ☹ ||||Beds: The bed was okay enough to sleep (When I am able to and not stressing myself of the bugs and roaches). Pillow was in poor condition/quality, I tried to ask for a better pillow, but none was provided as I was advised there is no extra pillow of good quality available.||||Linen/towels: Old and stained ||||Bathroom: The toilet smells unpleasant all the time (shower sewage is releasing a foul odor, which could be a plumbing problem). ||||Faucets, mirrors, and showers have molds. ||||Food: This is being delivered to the hotel by a third-party supplier (as advised by the hotel staff) which is somewhat satisfactory. ||||Guests are only provided 500ml of water per meal and if you need more than 1.5 liters of water per day you will need to pay extra for it. ||||There are no condiments of coffee or tea provided and if you want to have coffee or tea you would have to buy them. FYI, there is a water heater/boiler provided in the room, I needed an extension cord to be able to use it safely and conveniently which I have to deposit Php 200 pesos before I am provided one. ||||Entertainment: SMART TV was provided in the room, but the television channel is not working but was useful as an extended screen for my laptop 😊 ||||Amenities: Poor wi-fi signal and connection. Luckily for me, I have a company-issued mobile phone with sufficient data allowance. ||||Old, dilapidated chairs. Uneven and wiggly tables. Broken / damage light and light holder||||Staff: Was helpful, when asked to provide insect repellant and spray for the crawling bugs and cockroaches it was immediately provided (readily! As I assume they are well aware of the infestation issues of the old quickie motel turned quarantine facility). ||||The quality of service provided was satisfactory or maybe because I was just on the second floor. ||||Overall, the Spring Hotel was really somewhat disgusting but as I was part of the chartered flight that arrived from Sri Lanka arranged by OWWA I was group booked together with the other passengers from the flight. And as the above issues came to light, I had to suck it if not I would have to reset the number of days of my already completed quarantine at the time. ||||I have safely completed my quarantine isolation stay after numerous near misses with the cockroaches (LoL), hopefully, there are no stowaway cockroaches on my luggage when I get...
Read moreStay was for Quarantine purposes offered by OWWA for returning seabased OFWs during the COVID 19 Pandemic and for this reason alone, it is quite alarming that the sanitation in this hotel was not satisfactory as I would expect as a quarantine facility. One good thing is that staff were doing their best to be accomodating and nice( they earned a star) but this place needs a lot of improvement in their facility. As we entered the hotel, we were individually sanitized in a small tent with a machine that emits smoke that supposed to kill the virus. We then proceeded to documentation and designation of the rooms. The room I was assigned to was room 616. I was planning to take a bath after our long flight and to my disappointment, there were no toiletries readily available in the bathroom, so I have to call and ask. Toiletries was supplied an hour or so after I requested. I Took a shower (hot and cold shower available) right away . I didnt assume everything was cleaned in the room. I have seen some long hairs lying on the floor upon arriving and I have to use my personal towel as well. They have available towel and sheets, I believed they were newly washed, but who knows really? TV (working fine) and Aircon was also available in the room. Sadly, aircon was not cooling the room enough, outside temperature was colder outside the room during the night. That was how inefficient the AC was. Pillow cases were worn out bedsheet so i have to cover it as well. I have seen small cockroaches in the room so I was anxious that they might sleep with me during the night. I am still thankful that I have a decent (but not satisfactory for me) free place to stay during quaratine. I wish it would be better though. Tip: Always double lock your door since key cards can open the main lock in all rooms on the same floor. Surprising huh? You should not leave your room in that case. Tip: If you have money, dont book this Hotel, this place is not for the faint hearted. Bonus!! WiFi is not even worth mentioning, it is not working. At...
Read moreThe place is undergoing renovation during our stay. We were all too tired then after a 9-hour bus ride arriving the city around 3am. Booked 2 rooms. An attendant assisted us to our rooms and provided us keycards' that can only be used to turn on the power. We were not informed earlier about that or we were just probably very tired and didnt understand, that we locked ourselves out when we went to check on the other room for our sons. Nowhere is the attendant and another guest helped us unlock our room via HIS keycard!!! We also had to pull the aircon plug from the power outlet whenever it gets too cold since there is no button and knob is missing. Place is clean and sheets were antique and thin but fresh. TV cannot be turned on since buttons are not working or at least one of it is the power. We were never provided a remote.
I understand the renovation thing however its not worth what we paid for.
We transferred to Reddoorz Winter Hotel after checkout via phone app. Im guessing that these two hotels are related. Isnt it obvious, Spring? Winter? No wonder their interphones and wall interiors are similar.
I hope the Spring Hotel renovation is really for Reddoorz for the better....
