Doble – The Best Desserts & Street Food — Restaurant in Gdansk

A new spot in Gdańsk has emerged, and it’s nothing short of delightful. From the moment you step inside, the place makes a fantastic impression with its charming ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are attentive and professional, and the owner, in particular, deserves praise for his personal approach to every guest, making everyone feel special. Despite being a new venture, the attention to detail and commitment to quality suggest it’s destined for great success. The desserts are absolutely outstanding – perfectly balancing sweetness and lightness, with savory doughnuts that are both unique and delicious. The real highlight, however, is the artisanal ice cream, which I’d confidently say is the best in Gdańsk, if not all of Poland. Pistachio, vanilla, and salted caramel – each flavor was flawless, and the owner’s thoughtful gesture of offering us a complimentary cup allowed us to fully appreciate their exceptional quality. Doble offers a unique and intriguing concept—small donuts paired with sweet sauces and ice cream. The idea itself is appealing, but there is room for refinement to enhance the overall customer experience.

One key aspect that could benefit from improvement is portion flexibility. Currently, the one-size-fits-all approach does not cater to different appetites, and the inability to mix flavors—even when they fall within the same price range—feels unnecessarily restrictive.

During our visit as a group of three, we all shared similar feedback: The sugar intensity was overwhelming in a single portion. The monotony of set flavors (e.g., only strawberry or only Nutella, with no mix-and-match option) limited variety. Despite our enthusiasm, none of us were able to finish, and we unfortunately had to discard about 50% of our desserts. (We had: 1 x Doble Nutella Shot, 2 x Doble Strawberry Shake)

Opportunities for Enhancement: Introducing at least two portion sizes would allow customers to choose what suits them best. Implementing a “Create Your Own Set” option would provide greater flexibility, ensuring a more personalized and satisfying experience.

Takiej ignorancji i braku szacunku dawno nie spotkałam wobec potencjalnego klienta. Razem ze znajomym przyszliśmy z nadzieją zjedzenia jakiegoś dobrego deseru lub nawet chociażby lodów, podeszliśmy do kasy powiedzieliśmy „Dzień Dobry”, reakcja zerowa. Dwie panie spojrzały na nas kątem oka ale ani nic nie powiedziały ani nie podeszły do kasy, po prostu robiły swoje i rozmawiały między sobą. Jako że sama pracuje w handlu to dobrze wiem że kulturalne jest to aby poczekać na to żeby osoba która kończy coś robić dokończyła to i przyjęła klienta na spokojnie więc czekaliśmy, 3 minuty, 5 minut i dalej żadna reakcja. Panie chodziły za drzwi, patrzyły na nas i nic zero dalej reakcji. Gdy już miałam nie zadowolona minę to Pani wróciła z sali i przechodząc obok nas powiedziała „zaraz do was podejdę” po czym weszła za kasę i wzięła jakieś papiery i znowu gdzieś uciekła, więc my w tym momencie już zirytowani po prostu wyszliśmy bo naprawdę ale ile można czekać. Staliśmy tam napewno z dobre 7-8min a personelu naliczyłam 5 osób, nikt nie mógł się chociaż odezwać? A Pan który cały czas był przed nami przy kuchni niestety też nie był zainteresowany aby się odezwać i podejść, interesował go za to bardziej telefon wsadzony jak mi się wydaje w miejsce do niego nie przeznaczonego czyli wśród jedzenia które jak mi się wydaje było później wydane komuś :) Bardzo mi przykro że nie było nam dane spróbować to czego macie w ofercie ale takim zachowaniem bardzo zniechęciliście, napewno nie wrócę tam już i znajomym czy rodzinie będę odradzać przyjścia do was właśnie...
