We stayed at the Meininger Kraków Centrum for 14 days, and unfortunately, our experience was far below expectations. Although the hotel’s concept is interesting, especially for offering a shared kitchen for added convenience, the issues we encountered made the stay quite frustrating.
The kitchen, which should have been a functional and minimally clean space, was one of the biggest drawbacks. From the beginning, we noticed that one of the stoves was unusable, which made it harder to use, as the kitchen is shared by many guests.
Additionally, cleanliness was a constant issue: greasy countertops, dirty floors, a clogged sink, and dirty refrigerators. At first, there was a disinfectant spray, and you could clean up yourself, but it was removed after a few days. The trash bins, always overflowing, worsened the feeling of disorganization.
Although we witnessed some cleaning efforts during our stay, they were superficial and ineffective: they only removed the trash, put the dishes from the sink into the cupboards, and wiped the sink with a paper towel. Eventually, they replaced the sponges and restocked the detergents and hand paper towels.
A piece of sausage was left on a children's chair from the day we arrived and remained there until we left, highlighting the inefficiency of the cleaning.
To make matters worse, basic items such as cups, plates, cutlery, sponges, detergent, and paper were frequently unavailable. One day, we even had to use a single mug for three people for breakfast. There are no kettles in the kitchen, forcing guests to heat water in pots – and there are only two small ones.
Unfortunately, a guest had stuck a sticker on one of the burners of the only stove available; the issue stayed that way for days until I removed the sticker myself.
The reception also left much to be desired, ignoring our complaints about the lack of utensils and cleanliness of the space.
In the room, the situation was less problematic, but it still had its issues. When we arrived, everything was clean, which gave us a good first impression. However, the pillows were uncomfortable, very soft, and practically flat. Moreover, the curtains weren’t blackout, so the sunlight woke us up early every day.
We requested cleaning after five days, following the reception’s instructions, and left on the floor everything that should have been replaced, including bedding. To our surprise, only the towels were changed; the bed linens, pillowcases, and duvet covers remained the same. Worse, my son's duvet cover, which had fallen off, wasn’t even put back. Luckily, there was an extra duvet in the room that we could use. On the second cleaning request, the service was finally done properly, and the room was as it should have been from the start.
At the end of the stay, we noticed that some managers were supervising the common areas, which led to a slight improvement in the kitchen’s cleanliness. Still, the essential items continued to be missing, showing that the management problems go beyond occasional supervision.
The common areas (except the kitchen, obviously) were relatively clean. The coworking area, located in the reception, suffers from the constant flow of people, music, and noise, which makes it difficult to concentrate and prevents online meetings from being feasible.
Overall, Meininger Kraków Centrum has potential but falls short in maintenance and customer service. The neglect and lack of organization compromised what could have been a pleasant stay. I do not recommend it for those planning to stay for many days, especially if they intend to use...

My stay at this hostel on 9/Dec to 11/Dec in dorm room 008 was an absolute disaster due to an inconsiderate roommate and unresponsive management.
At around 8:30pm, I attempted to address an issue with a roommate who was playing a soccer livestream on speaker mode late at night, disrupting everyone in the dorm. Despite his blatant disregard for others, he hypocritically accused me of being disrespectful for brushing my teeth early in the morning before heading out. When I tried to have a reasonable conversation with him, he refused to acknowledge his disruptive behavior, creating unnecessary tension in the room.
By 9:00pm, I approached the front desk to seek assistance, expecting staff to mediate the situation. To my disappointment, they dismissed my concerns and told me to “discuss nicely” with the roommate—a step I had already taken without success. Their unwillingness to step in or provide any meaningful resolution left me feeling unsupported and frustrated.
This is not just a minor inconvenience—it’s a clear indication of poor management and a lack of accountability. I have both photo and video evidence of the roommate’s inconsiderate behavior, which I am prepared to escalate to higher management or relevant authorities if needed.
Hostels are meant to provide a fair and respectful shared environment, but this establishment has completely failed to uphold that standard. I strongly urge higher management to investigate this incident in room 008 and take immediate steps to improve their handling of guest complaints. Travelers seeking professionalism and a peaceful stay should avoid this hostel...
