The hostel feels very new, and is very clean and well decorated. Facilities are mostly good - a big social area with varied types of seating and great workspaces and a bar, although there was no bar person for the first three nights I stayed, so they could only serve beer and soft drinks those nights. I think they could handle those extending their stays a bit better. I understand that they might not be able to keep guests in the same bed, but in a big hostel, surely they could allocate a bed which is available at check out, rather than the one the system allocates - since it wasn't ready, I had to put my bags in storage. They came and got the bed above mine ready at 9 in the morning (even though several others were checking out from the room), so availability was not likely to be a problem. But the room itself was great - I was in a bunk facing the wall, so quite private, and all bunks also have a metal grille, down their side for a foot or more which also adds to the privacy. Good mattresses, good bathrooms, a desk in the room (and a TV but no one used it), quite spacious and airy. The wifi worked really well in the room and downstairs. The hostel is a away from the centre a bit, but it is an easy walk, and there are coffee shops on the way as well as a couple of great restaurants nearby - an Italian and a 24 hour pizza bar. The kitchen was the weakest point - quite a few pots, four ladles, but not much in the way of plates and no kettle.

I was bitten by a bed bug here at the Meininger Hostel. I was bitten by something in bed at night, and found that it was a bed bug. I caught it right away and showed it to the staff. When I found a bed bug, I showed them a picture and the bite site. And he moved rooms. The manager told me to tell him about the refund at that time because he had to come to work at 9 a.m., but since I had to check out at 7 a.m., he told me to request it via email. Then the reply I received was that a refund was not possible because there were no bed bugs found in the room. Then why did the employee ask me to request a refund?? What did I catch and what did I get bitten by? What are the photos?? Are you saying I'm lying?? This fact makes me feel even worse... I moved to another place, washed and dried all my clothes and luggage, bought medication for bed bugs, and was so stressed out from the itchiness that they treated me like a liar. I often use MEININGER hostels while traveling around the world. Now there is no need to go to all Meininger places, not just Krakow. If you see it as a manager's job, you don't have to look anywhere else.

Amazing ho(s)tel with several drawbacks + modern new hotel / hostel, with incredible design and great mood + high quality wood furniture + large room + hyper-fast wifi (100-150Mbps) - very small desk, it's just suitable for a laptop - no blackout curtains - walk-in shower makes difficult not to flood the bathroom floor - room was noisy in the early morning due to ppl going back and forth to the parking with trolleys (room was exactly in front of the parking, and I asked a silent room...) - they should not suggest to use softners in the laundry, according to their eco-friendly principles - no way to contact them directly, everything should be managed with the central customer service... even at the hotel, they were not able to assign room in advance because of "their management software" (?!) This policy is limiting and a bit annoying. - many guests were very young, large groups of students probably underage traveling with school

We stayed at the Meininger Kraków Centrum for 14 days, and unfortunately, our experience was far below expectations. Although the hotel’s concept is interesting, especially for offering a shared kitchen for added convenience, the issues we encountered made the stay quite frustrating.

The kitchen, which should have been a functional and minimally clean space, was one of the biggest drawbacks. From the beginning, we noticed that one of the stoves was unusable, which made it harder to use, as the kitchen is shared by many guests.

Additionally, cleanliness was a constant issue: greasy countertops, dirty floors, a clogged sink, and dirty refrigerators. At first, there was a disinfectant spray, and you could clean up yourself, but it was removed after a few days. The trash bins, always overflowing, worsened the feeling of disorganization.

Although we witnessed some cleaning efforts during our stay, they were superficial and ineffective: they only removed the trash, put the dishes from the sink into the cupboards, and wiped the sink with a paper towel. Eventually, they replaced the sponges and restocked the detergents and hand paper towels.

A piece of sausage was left on a children's chair from the day we arrived and remained there until we left, highlighting the inefficiency of the cleaning.

To make matters worse, basic items such as cups, plates, cutlery, sponges, detergent, and paper were frequently unavailable. One day, we even had to use a single mug for three people for breakfast. There are no kettles in the kitchen, forcing guests to heat water in pots – and there are only two small ones.

Unfortunately, a guest had stuck a sticker on one of the burners of the only stove available; the issue stayed that way for days until I removed the sticker myself.

The reception also left much to be desired, ignoring our complaints about the lack of utensils and cleanliness of the space.

In the room, the situation was less problematic, but it still had its issues. When we arrived, everything was clean, which gave us a good first impression. However, the pillows were uncomfortable, very soft, and practically flat. Moreover, the curtains weren’t blackout, so the sunlight woke us up early every day.

We requested cleaning after five days, following the reception’s instructions, and left on the floor everything that should have been replaced, including bedding. To our surprise, only the towels were changed; the bed linens, pillowcases, and duvet covers remained the same. Worse, my son's duvet cover, which had fallen off, wasn’t even put back. Luckily, there was an extra duvet in the room that we could use. On the second cleaning request, the service was finally done properly, and the room was as it should have been from the start.

At the end of the stay, we noticed that some managers were supervising the common areas, which led to a slight improvement in the kitchen’s cleanliness. Still, the essential items continued to be missing, showing that the management problems go beyond occasional supervision.

The common areas (except the kitchen, obviously) were relatively clean. The coworking area, located in the reception, suffers from the constant flow of people, music, and noise, which makes it difficult to concentrate and prevents online meetings from being feasible.

Overall, Meininger Kraków Centrum has potential but falls short in maintenance and customer service. The neglect and lack of organization compromised what could have been a pleasant stay. I do not recommend it for those planning to stay for many days, especially if they intend to use...

The Hotel Kraków Centrum offers a great blend of affordability, comfort, and modern convenience in a prime location. Situated near the historic Old Town and just a short walk from Wawel Castle, this hotel is perfect for travelers looking to explore Kraków’s cultural landmarks while staying in a budget-friendly accommodation. The location is a major highlight. Guests can easily access the Old Town, the Kazimierz district, and many major attractions by foot. The surrounding area has a nice mix of restaurants, shops, and cafes, giving visitors plenty of dining and leisure options. The rooms are clean, functional, and modern, though a bit on the smaller side. They have minimalist decor, typical of the Meininger brand, and provide all the essential amenities, including comfortable beds, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. While not luxurious, they’re perfect for short stays and travelers who plan to spend most of their time exploring the city. The hotel offers a communal kitchen, which is a great option for those who want to cook their own meals. There’s also a bar and lounge area where guests can relax after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is basic but good value, offering a selection of continental options. The staff are friendly, helpful, and speak good English, making check-in smooth and offering good advice on local attractions and transport options. Housekeeping is efficient, and the reception desk is open 24/7, which is very convenient.

Meininger Hotel Kraków Centrum is an excellent option for budget-conscious travelers who want a central location without sacrificing comfort. It’s ideal for solo travelers, groups, and even families, thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and practical amenities. While it may not offer luxury, it provides great value for money in one of Kraków’s most...

My stay at this hostel on 9/Dec to 11/Dec in dorm room 008 was an absolute disaster due to an inconsiderate roommate and unresponsive management.

At around 8:30pm, I attempted to address an issue with a roommate who was playing a soccer livestream on speaker mode late at night, disrupting everyone in the dorm. Despite his blatant disregard for others, he hypocritically accused me of being disrespectful for brushing my teeth early in the morning before heading out. When I tried to have a reasonable conversation with him, he refused to acknowledge his disruptive behavior, creating unnecessary tension in the room.

By 9:00pm, I approached the front desk to seek assistance, expecting staff to mediate the situation. To my disappointment, they dismissed my concerns and told me to “discuss nicely” with the roommate—a step I had already taken without success. Their unwillingness to step in or provide any meaningful resolution left me feeling unsupported and frustrated.

This is not just a minor inconvenience—it’s a clear indication of poor management and a lack of accountability. I have both photo and video evidence of the roommate’s inconsiderate behavior, which I am prepared to escalate to higher management or relevant authorities if needed.

Hostels are meant to provide a fair and respectful shared environment, but this establishment has completely failed to uphold that standard. I strongly urge higher management to investigate this incident in room 008 and take immediate steps to improve their handling of guest complaints. Travelers seeking professionalism and a peaceful stay should avoid this hostel...
