Good stay at Hotel Indigo Warsaw Nowy Świat for a couple of days. I could not help myself comparing it with the InterContinental Warsaw, as I’ve been coming there very frequent for a very long time. ||The Indigo Hotel had a totally different vibe: much more informal, with staff having an easy vibe to. The hotel is of course considerably smaller than the IC and was fully booked, so less chance on an upgrade - I did not get any. I did get the breakfast benefit offered (Diamond Elite). ||There was a slight miscommunication during check in: the agent mentioned the hotel restaurant having ‘a Michelin Star’, stating that it was the third best Hotel Indigo breakfast worldwide. Non guests would come to the hotel only to have breakfast. What she meant was that the hotel has a Michelin guide recommendation, and not a star. ||Having stayed in the InterContinental Bangkok less two weeks ago, I found the breakfast certainly at a his hotel was certainly not bad. But compared to the IC BKK I could not help comparing it to coming nowwhwre near that level given the choices on offer. Although the concept of ordering a la carte breakfast is nice. And of course, I’m very spoiled when it comes to spending time in hotels and eating 😉||My (premium) room was nice and spacious and also very light. Since sunrise in Poland comes very early (with dawn starting 03:27, sunrise at 04:15) my room became very light early in the morning with the curtains not fully blocking sunlight. I like to sleep in complete darkness. What also was bothering me was the big lcd display of the phone, lighting up my entire room. Solved ny placing my wallet over it. ||Air conditioning is managed centrally by the reception, you can only adjust temperature +/- 3 degrees Celsius. Windows of my room could be opened. I had a balcony, but unfortunately access was not possible. ||The bedside reading light is placed in a very inconvenient place. Don’t falli a sleep reading, because when you wake you and bash your head against the fully metal, pointy light that was located just about where your head is, you might be painting the very white room red. Also, the master switches of the lights could not be operated from the bed, they were around the a corner where the power plugs were. This illogical layout was due to the fact that the bed was a folding bed. ||Room service menu wise, the choices are very limited. There were only full dining options (starter, main, dessert) on option as opposed to things such as sandwiches. The restaurant had more choices, it is not clear to me why the roon servce menu would differ from the restaurant menu. ||Location wise, the hotel is close by to nightlife as well as shops. Do be aware of the ‘do you want to have a free drink’ scam, as you could end up in a shady bar and/oe strip club where you risk ending up drugged and with a depleted credit card. At some point, my colleague and I were approached about five times when walking back to our hotel. Rest assured there were plenty of normal (cocktail) bars and (craft beer) cafes in operation, but this infamous scam is very annoying as you must shoo the people who approach you away. Some of them are very persistent. Head to the Fabryka Norblina if you don’t want this problem. ||On the day of checkout I could secure a late checkout to finish some work. The lobby had one high table with power plugs where you can work from. ||From a business traveller point of view, the IC offers more amenities and services. If you’re looking for a more boutique hotel experience the Hotel Indigo is a...
Read moreHotel Indigo Warsaw - Nowy Swiat is housed inside a historic building that has been wonderfully renovated with a mix between old and new design. The location of Indigo is right at the start of Nowy Swiat street (that leads to the Old Town) and you will find lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops on the street to choose from. Near the hotel you will also find several bus/tram stops and a few minutes away an underground station.||Rooms are modern, spacious and everything operates with the touch of a few buttons - even the curtains; although it takes some time to understand how it works. I have stayed twice at this hotel. Once I stayed in a room with a fantastic city view but then could hear noises from the street outside (ok, I’m a light sleeper :)) but also the roll down curtains were not tight enough so a lot of sunlight slipped in in the morning (I prefer to sleep in a dark room). Second time I stayed in a room facing the atrium, this room was quiet and provided complete darkness. ||Breakfast served in restaurant Flo is one of the best in Warsaw; it has a good selection of fresh food including freshly squeezed orange juice and an excellent a ’la carte’ menu to choose from. They also have Anastasia, who is absolutely exceptional – warm, genuinely attentive, and with a natural charm that makes you feel instantly welcome. She doesn’t just help you choose something tasty from the menu; she makes it feel like a personal recommendation, as if she’s curating the best experience just for you. We have stayed in many hotels in Warsaw – Bristol, Intercontinental, H15, Verte, Warszawa, Nobu, Hilton – but nowhere have we encountered someone as dedicated and heartfelt in their service as Anastasia. While all staff work hard to ensure items are topped up, tableware replenished, and tables cleared and cleaned, Anastasia stands out. She goes beyond simply assisting – she anticipates your needs with genuine enthusiasm, making every interaction feel special.||During both stays we had lunch in the restaurant Flo. The dishes were mouth-watering, and the quality of the food was excellent. Also during the lunch, the staff were attentive.||I have already recommended this hotel to my friends, colleagues and family. And I have already stayed in this hotel twice this year and will come back for sure, although when I’m in Warsaw with my son then we will stay at Crowne Plaza Warsaw - The HUB (also IHG hotel) just because they have a much better...
Read moreI absolutely loved the hotel! Almost everything about my stay was perfect. First of all, I would like to point out that the hotel has a very nice location in the city center right next to the main street-Promenade called Nowy Swiat. There are a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops around. Also, the main train station of Warsaw is very close. A taxi ride to there is only 5 min. The hotel’s design is wonderful! The hotel is located inside of an old historic building, but everything outside and inside is renovated. The hotel lobby looks gorgeous! My check-in was fast and easy. Every single front desk person was super sweet and helpful. I got a Premium Room (#206) and I loved it! My room was very big, had a high ceiling, its design was conservatively beautiful, I felt super comfortable staying there. All the furniture was in great condition. There was a big panoramic window in my room, which gave a lot of natural daylight. Also, my room had a little balcony, but unfortunately it was impossible to open a door or even the window a little bit. They had a note that if you want to open it, you have to go to the front desk and put a request in to have it opened. Another little minus was a very small refrigerator in the room which was filled up with the hotel’s drinks and snacks, so there was no space to put my own stuff there. And one more issue for me was the bed. Unfortunately, the mattress was very uncomfortable as were the pillows. Otherwise, the rest of the room was perfect. I liked the closet, which was huge and could fit a lot of stuff. Also, I liked the luggage rack right next to the door. The room has a nice sofa next to the bed and there were like 3 tables there. Oh yes, I also loved the plug situation in my room. Plugs were everywhere! The bathroom was big and nicely decorated. I loved the floor with heating. Also, I loved the big bathtub. Unfortunately, I was not very impressed with the bathroom amenities. They were an okay quality and didn’t smell really nice. Wi-Fi was working very fast during my entire stay. Last negative thing I want to mention was no wake-up call, which I ordered the night before my departure. Luckily my iPhone alarm saved me! The price I paid for my room per night ($130 per night) was absolutely reasonable! Finishing up my review, I want to recommend this hotel for a stay in Warsaw. I am sure you will not regret it and your stay will be nice and...
