We booked a 10 night stay through PortugalGo and had a 2 bed apartment (apartment no2) facing the pool which was great to keep an eye on the kids from the spacious sun terrace. We also arranged our airport transfer with them at a cost of 65 euros return for 4 of us. AnaMaria from PortugalGo was very helpful both before our holiday and during, she arranged transport to Albufiera for us, tickets and transport to the waterpark (Aquashow) and also made restaurant reservations for us. ||Casa de Horta is very well maintained and has a pool table (free) and also a ping pong table as well as a play area for smaller children. The pool is great with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for all the guests. We found the location to be a little out of the way, there is a supermarket about 15 mins walk and the town is about a 25 minute walk, however the property owners will take you to town/beach and will also drop you at one of their restaurants (Amber and Nectar) and also take you back again after your meal free of charge.||There is a couple of bbq areas on the complex which we used most nights, there was charcoal and firelighters available and also limited tools for cooking, one critisism is that the areas obviously aren't checked regularly as we had to clean the cooking surfaces before we could use it. ||Another point we noticed is that there isn't much in the way of cleaning products in the apartments, it would help to have some washing up liquid/spray cleaner and cloths without having to buy things like that yourself.||Also there is wifi available but we didn't have it as the cost was 5 euros a day, all the local bars/restaurants offer free wifi so it wasn't a problem.||It was our first visit to Portugal and we had a thoroughly relaxing time.||Casa de Horta is a lovely place to stay and we would return again...
Read moreThis is a lovely place to stay. Out of the way a little, but we have been many times, sometimes Spring, Winter, Autumn. We had our last Christmas there and it was lovely sitting around the pool Christmas morning. We were very lucky as only had rain at night. We are going back in June. What more could you ask for than peace? picking Oranges and Lemons for breakfast. A beautiful clean apartment helpful staff at the office like Ana and Telma and housekeeping. You can go straight in knowing everything is spotless. We love it. We stay in number 12 or number 7 in the 1 bedroom apartment ground floor. we like both but what ever you can sit out and relax over breakfast or coffee, and sit in the grounds. We usually hire a car as we like to see the Algarve, but some days we do walk to the nearest beach, which is a stroll but lovely on a sunny day through the lanes and short cuts. The owners Portugese restaurant is very nice and nice staff. We do often eat there as we do like it, but we do also try other places at the seafront. But this is one of our favourites. We cannot say any more than try it once for yourself, the pictures on the internet are very true. We struggle to think of going anywhere else with such peace....
