My family and I were clients for decades. I remember when this was just a tiny unpretentious Cafe. People went there because of the shrimp "rissois" and "Queques". Everyone in the staff was polite and welcoming and clients pretty much knew them by their name. I moved from Estoril ( my hometown) a couple years ago and recently revisited this place...for my surprise and astonishment I was rudely treated by the waiter who was incapable of showing minimal manners. Instead of a simple "good evening" or " how can I help you?" , accompanied by maybe a smile (to much to ask?) he just told us to move to another table because they were about to close that part of the Cafe. His attitude and manners were really unpleasant. Will never go back. Either way Estoril is full of a lot more modern and up to date restaurants and cafes. I'm giving it 1 star because the half star option is not...
Read moreSince discovering Pinto’s about 2 months, I went there regularly, at least once a week. The waiters started to recognize me and knew my preferences. It is located near the casino with plenty of parking, (which is 2 EUR p h until 2 AM). The décor and food are fine. Two weeks ago, I invited friends there for dinner and ordered 2 bottles of white HOUSE wine without specifying which one. Big mistake!! When the bill came, we were shocked to see they gave me the MOST EXPENSIVE wine on the menu. When I confronted the taller waiter, he replied there is no white house wine by the bottle. The waiters probably thought they could make a quick buck by ripping off passing tourists. This was a big mistake, as all of us are living here. Needless to say, we felt cheated and won’t ever go back or recommend this place to anybody. Now I understand why this place is very...
Read moreMy husband & I dined twice at Pinto during one of our vacation stops in Estoril. It is a charming spot with delicious food and wonderful service. The risotto is especially good and in our opinion made to perfection. The restaurant has a very comfortable feel with the choice of sitting inside or outside to watch the beautiful sunset. We were lucky to have the same waiter on both ocassions, a gentleman probably closer to our age, meaning a little older, unfortunately we didn't get his name. He definitely knows his job demonstrating the right balance of professional and friendliness. During our vacation we dined in many restaurants, however we count Pintos as one of our...
