Guest House Santa Clara - Coimbra — Hotel in Coimbra

Small and simple guest house at a reasonable price in good Coimbra location. It is possible to park in front of the entrance at the end of the small and very short road R. Baixo, but only to check in and unload/load luggage. During check-in, the kind lady told us to park at the Parking Convent San Francisco (five minutes walking distance from the guest house) which is incredibly covered, supervised and free. The room was good and clean with a small but complete private bathroom. From the room, on the first floor, there was a nice view of Coimbra and its university, but wifi was not available except on the ground floor in the room used for check-in. There is no breakfast service, but we just crossed the Av. João das Regras to be able to choose to have breakfast in an Gelataria/Creperia or in a Croissanteria. Loved this place. Perfect location within easy walking distance to the centre of beautiful Coimbra. ||We had a corner double room on the 2nd floor - whilst the road is right nearby you could barely hear it, which was perfect as I’m a light sleeper: beds were comfortable and the bedding / towels all good quality - they even have their own logo embossed (nice touch!).||Very friendly and helpful service. Welcome was warm and inviting. Parking was easy out the front but they only have 3 or so spaces. No lift but the stairs to our room that was on the top floor was worth it. Our room had amazing windows/doors that open fully and a balcony all the way round. Bathroom was nice and clean along with the room. The room was also very spacious with big wardrobes.
