Kebab Mir Baba — Restaurant in Coimbra

We went there to eat authentic Turkish food but what we received instead was the döner kebab which can be found everywhere in Portugal! I saw the menu posted on Google Maps and we intended to order Lahmajun for the main course and Baklava for desert, but when we reached there, they told us Lahmajun was finished (at 12:30 p.m) and they didn't have baklava either! It was a disappointment because we drove 1 & a half hour on weekend to experience something different. But finally we ordered kebab prato which was not as satisfactory as we expected, was too salty and not fresh! The service was weak because we were sitting outside and nobody came to us to get order and we had to go inside to order, to bring our food and to pay at balcão, which was not expected from a Turkish restaurant (we know that Turkish restaurants are famous for hospitality and excellent service). Best kebab restaurant in Coimbra! The food is delicious and the bread for the kebab is baked fresh every day.

They have great options for vegan and vegetarian people - the falafel is incredible.

The meals are served with a smile too, really great, friendly service from the people who work here.

Highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner, but they also have breakfast...

The food is probably the least appealing thing, and yet I'm a regular because of the space itself. Below average turkish/middle eastern food, ingredients aren't really the best, especially the meats, but it's acceptable. Avoid the frozen french fries, they always smell of burnt oil.
