We weren't expecting much when we booked this place but their photos must be very outdated as this place looks brand new. First it was easy to get to and we didnt have to drive tight alleys to get here. There is a huge parking lot next door. There was a homeless looking guy in the lot "leading people to their parking spot and expecting a tip " but we didnt feel threatened by him. We did give him a couple euros just in case he got mad and did something to our rent.|Check in info was sent to us prior to our arrival so we got all our access codes to get in. Those expecting 24/7 access to a hotel worker and talking to them then this place isnt for you. There is an sos number to contact them but it's pretty much you're own which we did not mind.|This hotel is so clean and modern. Even the stairwell was clean! There is an elevator which was glass so you could e joy the view going up to your room.|There are many few choices nearby. Walking distance to the major sights.|Absolutely no complaints about this place. I highly...
Read moreWe had a family suite here, overlooking the river. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked to be new and well equipped. The desk staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. There is daily service for the rooms. Parking is very close, cheap and safe. The added bonuses of staying here are a shared kitchen with a small, delightful rooftop terrace and a larger terrace on the first floor. Walking over the bridge to the main pedestrian street takes less than 5 minutes. The Santa Clara neighborhood is quiet with a number of restaurants. A large supermarket is about a ten minute walk away from town. NOTE - it is difficult to find the building coming in off the highway. It is and the end of the block with no clear identification by the door. The name is on the river side. You need to drive over a sidewalk from the main road as the short street is quite easy to miss. This place is a real find, so glad we...
Read moreI loved this little accommodation, and thought it was just right for a short stay in Coimbra. We arrived in the afternoon and the owner was waiting for us with our key, and it was so easy to get right out and explore since we were right by the bridge to the old town. The next day we walked to the university, and we even managed to find a laundromat close enough to walk to and wash our clothes. ||The only reasons I give it a 4 instead of 5-star rating is that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and the air conditioner did not work very well. The weather was pretty warm, and we just couldn't get our room to feel that cool. ||I would still stay here again, because the location and the other positives outweigh...
