The rooms were fine, pretty good bed. Shower itself OK, but barely closed and sealed, so my bathroom 'flooded' every time. My window faced someone else's quite closely, so I needed to keep the blinds shut at all times for privacy (although it took me a couple of days to realise). The hotel is well located. One of the front desk people was very nice. At other times there were a man and a woman working and they were having a heated row every time I stopped by, which was quite obnoxious and unpleasant to witness. The nice guy at the reception asked when I checked in if I wanted by bedroom to be tidied up daily - he said that, due to COVID, it was optional. I opted for no, I was only staying a week, so I believe it's more eco-friendly to not have my towels changed every day. The cleaning staff obliged for the first few days, but one day I walked in and they had been there - and so they did for the remaining days. On check-in the reception guy also told me to enquire about vegan options for breakfast, but not only there weren't any (only tomatoes and a couple of fruit), you couldn't find one single person working there to ask (everyone was in the kitchen doing dishes). When I managed to find someone, she just said they didn't have anything vegan. But the breakfast didn't look very good even for non-vegans. The juice was dreadful, artificial and pure sugar. Another issue I had was zero after-sales service: I had forgotten a medicine for the trip, so asked my husband to mail it to the hotel for me. Royal Mail had claimed it would deliver by Friday (I left on Saturday), but obviously were super slow and delivered only 12 days later than promised. Right when I got home, I emailed the hotel explaining the situation and asking them to refuse receiving the package, so it would automatically be returned to sender (so I wouldn't need to buy extra medicine). The hotel never even acknowledged my email and accepted my package delivery, even though I obviously wasn't staying there any more.

A VERY mediocre experience for an uneduqite price. The hotel is located perfectly in the city with an amazing view from the roof top. But the quality of the whole place leaves much to be desired. It's an old hotel that hasn't been renovated or refreshed since the early 2000s. It seems from the comments here that they offer an upgrade to almost anyone - ourselves included. It was an additional 25€ a night for a "bigger" room one floor higher with a balcony. We didn't take it. Our room had a distinctive old carpet/furniture smell that was almost choking if not ventilated after a whole day out. Most of the furnishings were dated and scrappy, not dirty, but worn out and clanky. The rooms are really small, we struggled to set our luggage open (and I don't accept saying that it's a historic city center where there is limited space - you could build a hotel with fewer but bigger rooms, the size of the room is a consious choice by the owner to cram more people in). There was no fridge in the room, nor a kettle or drinking glasses (only a set of two paper cups). The bathroom was also small - you basically touch the wall of the shower with your toes when sitting on the toilet and get the toilet paper rack poking you in the side. The pressure in the shower is very low and the space in the shower itself is really tight. I don't recommend this place for older or bigger people - it'll be tough to get around. Additionally, there was a bad sewer smell coming from the toilet. Walls are paper thin. The breakfast is nothing special. The food is mediocre at best. Given the choices in the city, it's not that bad but comparing it to other hotels in Lisbon or Porto it's well below average.

A wonderful stay with a beautiful location. The staff are amongst the most friendly and accommodating we have had on any stay. Great introduction to the city and nearby sites and recommendations. Rooms are fairly standard in size for Europe and Portugal, and while that means smaller by North American standards the room was well appointed, spotless and comfortable. The washroom was the same. I understand some other reviewers mentioned the showers, especially corner ones to be small. The shower we had was square, a corner shower but plenty good of size, you could shower as a couple unless both are plus sized with ease. The Terrace! What a beautiful place to spend an evening, with wonderful service and a view to never be forgotten make sure to spend time up there. Breakfast was equally good to the rest of our stay, a selection of pastries, yogurts, good coffee, bacon eggs etc. More than serviceable and the fresh orange juice in Portugal is fantastic. Obrigado Hotel Oslo, we aren't sure when we'll be back in Portugal, yet, but we will certainly stay with you again in Coimbra!
