Restaurante Mourão — Restaurant in Guimarães

We were a group of five that stopped for lunch at Restaurante Mourau.

We were brought an entree that we did not order and when we pointed that out, the server/ owner (?) shrugged and made no attempt to rectify the problem. We left it on the table for the entire meal. We moved it to the end of the table where it sat untouched. We were then charged for it. The fish entrees were cooked well and were fresh but the veal cutlets with mushroom sauce were not tasty and the mushrooms were canned. Also it was accompanied by rice and fries. The other entrees had boiled potatoes and grated carrots. Before we left the dining room the lights were turned off. Es un restaurante de primera planta, al que se accede después de hacer una “escalada “, por unas escaleras que conllevan cierto riesgo . No existe concepto de accesibilidad. Comida típica portuguesa tradicional. Plato único. Nos ponen como entrantes la típica mantequilla y bolinhos de bacalhau. La primera no se ha probado y los segundos, estaban fríos, resesos, incomestibles, seguramente quedaron del mediodía.. Plato único: bacalhau al estilo Mourao. Resumen : Es un bacalao frito con patatas fritas y cebolla pochada con sabor agridulce. El plato está bien, media ración, suficiente y por 12 euros. Bacalao se presenta en su punto óptimo de fritura al igual que las patatas. Deja un sabor muy agradable, picante . Pan tostado.Se pide un Vino Verde, envase a rosca, sin corcho, decepcionante, es un vino espumoso, efervescente, ligero, trazas carbonicas, sin registro . Mala elección. Se puede recomendar como experiencia en busca de los sabores tradicionales de Guimaraes. El lugar es un paso hacia atrás en el tiempo. The rice was microwave heated, the veal chop was not actually barbecued, and was a bit done. My boyfriend had the mixed grill that was not good, with smoked can sausages and a very Mexican sauce, not typical Portuguese food.

The fries were undercooked and the salad too little. We heard the microwave a lot...
