A guesthouse is a perfect option if you are looking for something cheaper than a resort and a little more personal that an apartment. David and Lisa are great hosts providing an unobtrusive service but always available if needed. This guesthouse is well located between the beaches and the old town. Lots of eating options close by but both the old town and beaches are just a relaxing walk away. Lisa provided an informative check in process with loads of info and maps with easy walking paths and restaurant recommendations. Well worth the 5 or 10 minutes to go through this with her. There’s also a local bus which does the loop to town and the main beaches but I didn’t find the walks difficult (I am 70).|My room was delightfully clean and airy with shutters on the windows so hardly necessary to use the air conditioner. Fridge was well stocked and there was also a coffee machine with loads of pods. Perfect for that early morning coffee on the balcony. WIFI available and worked well so I could watch Netflix of an evening if I didn’t go out. There’s also a small pool for a refreshing dip after walking back from the beach.|I loved my week in Lagos and would definitely stay here again when I return to Portugal. Very safe with coded locks so ideal for the...
Read moreHoliday Lagos is a very nice guesthouse run by an Australian/Portuguese couple. My wife and I stayed here for 3 days at the end of September. The rooms are large and the hosts are very accomodating with large beach towels, umbrellas and organized recommendations of beaches, restaurants and things to do. There is a good market nearby [a 3 minute walk] that has all of the necessary staples, wine, beer and fresh baked goods every morning.||||I highly recommend having a car if you stay here. There are quite a few things nearby that don't require a car, but having one opens up many more options. On street parking was always available and never a probelm during our stay.||||We had a couple minor housekeeping issues during our stay but Lisa handled them in a way that minimized any impact on us and we understand that "things happen", especially at smaller properties. I mention this since I consider that her handling of the situation was a net positive for the property, and worth noting.||||Hint - if you are coming by car from Spain, be sure to thoroughly research the highway toll system before you come since A-22 is ONLY electronic toll and there are no cash payment options...
Read moreAfter such a wonderful stay last year, we decided to return to Lagos and once again stay at Holiday Lagos. ||It was even better than last year!||So many upgrades since we were there last. First and foremost a lovely pool and wooden decking and shower have been installed in the front garden. The pool was lovely with salt water and warmed to a beautiful temperature. So relaxing and refreshing without any chilliness. It was perfect for our children as unheated pools can be very cold. Beautiful new wooden flooring in our room. This gave the room such a modern and fresh feel. ||Our room had an adjoining lounge room with a fold out couch, which was perfect for the children. It was very comfortable and so great to have so much space for our family. ||We also loved the new toiletries. They were very luxurious!||We will certainly...
