We recently visited, and was a little disappointed. Staff friendly and welcoming - nothing but good things to say there. Drinks were well made [although a little slow] For us it was the food that let it down, and living in Lagos and being very familiar with other local restaurants this is why we would not return. We started off with some Bread, butter and the Iberian bacon spread - which I was looking forward to but it honestly hardly tasted any different from the butter, I was waiting for that distinct taste of iberian bacon that never came.
We then choose to have a selection of the tapas. Shrimp : So over cooked there was barely anything left to eat and obviously that is a dish that is on a majority of menus in the area so a lot to compare to. Oxtail Croquette : Good Flavor and a nice portion size, but in my opinion [from the hospitality industry] the oil needs to be changed as they had that distinct old/well used oil taste from the frier. Belgian fries : Immediate thought was they looked lovely and certainly looked like Belgian fries but the 2 main flavours of Truffle and the Parmigiano were not strong enough, they need to a better quality to get that punch that I was expecting
They are trying hard, and I know this is a fairly new restaurant and I do wish them every success but it just didn't hit the mark for us I am afraid as the Menu promised great things that was...
Read moreWe were excited to visit this restaurant as it has such wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in we realised that the volume and quality of the music was going to present a problem for one of our party, who is deaf and uses hearing aids. Not only was the soundtrack very loud, there was also too much bass, making it impossible for our friend to hear. In my opinion it was an uncomfortable environment for eating dinner anyway, although I realise these things are subjective. The staff were kind and welcoming and when we explained the problem they said they would turn the speaker off above our table. This was accommodating but didn’t help at all. The only solution was to switch the music off which for the sake of the comfort of a customer with a disability would’ve been a reasonable adjustment. The manager refused to do this although suggested we sit outside. By this point our friend was rather upset and wanted to leave. It was also rather chilly! Very disappointing; not only because we didn’t get to sample the delicious menu but also because I think had the staff taken time to think they would have realised that they have a duty of care to their customers. I’m sure there response and willingness to help would have been very different had our friend’s disability been visible....
Read moreIncredible dining experience in this new beautiful restaurant situated just 10 min walk from Lagos town. From entering the restaurant until leaving we could not have asked for better. Highlights were the tapas plates which we shared 6 of. Each dish was as good as the next and we really enjoyed the pace of service. Beautiful wine recommendations and just perfect classic well executed cocktails made this a very enjoyable and memorable meal for me and my wife. We found the value to be some of the best on offer in Lagos, we actually noted that we would have happily paid a little more as we both felt it was a little underpriced for the quality on offer. So much so we have booked in again with the kids 🙌
A special mention to the team, our waitress who was absolutely first class and so brilliantly confident in her service. The chef also came to say hello which was a nice touch. He was passionate, energetic and a real interesting guy to chat with. It was also a real testament to the commitment here seeing the owner work the bar, I love to see this! This really is a great restaurant and I wish them every success.
