The Xafarix bar was already one of Lisbon's best hangs and meeting new friends. It always feels friendly, and the drinks are good. Xafarix also has a new "Republic of Comedy" stand-up comedy and "Villain" stand-up cmedy" are there too. The crowd is from young adult to more mature, and everybody is relaxed and friendly. I have attended several different comedy shows here. The last one, this past Friday night, was called "Bad Advice Comedy." Some shows, like this one, are free, contribution only shows - This was definitely a show that I felt no problems about contributing to. It was good! I love stand-up. Anyway, other nights might draw international comics from everywhere and may require a ticket. Just check out the Republic of Comedy on Eventbrite. There are a great variety of different style comedy shows almost every night. Basically, this is a great place to meet new people and have a few laughs. The bar also has very good mixed drinks, which I find is a big relief. You don't have to drink, but a lot of places seem only to have beer, and the Xafarix liquor shelf is very good. Update: Xafarix it still everything I've already mentioned. The wonderful thing I've noticed is the increased quality of the comedians and the heightened, exponentialy professional levM.C.'s. Stand-up is always a bit of a hit-or-miss proposition - so is life! There's a lot of life here. Not to oversell it, but Xafarix is become one of my favorite...
Read moreI went to Xafarix for a stand-up night and it was such a great surprise. I had no idea this venue, which in the 90s was known for live music back when it was Represas' bar, now hosts such a cool comedy scene. I only found out about it thanks to someone I met at a Rachman Blake show in Lisbon â and Iâm glad I did!
Everyone there was super welcoming, and I really enjoyed the cocktail Francesco made for me â at the time I had no idea he was also a comedian (I think heâs even better on stage than behind the bar đ , though the cocktail was excellent).
The headliner was Ahren, who was great, but I really enjoyed the sets from Xinyi Li, Francesco himself, and the two Ăscars (didnât catch their surnames, but they share the same name). It was a night full of great surprises and lots of laughs â Iâll definitely be exploring Lisbonâs stand-up scene more from now on.
Highly recommend to...
Read moreWent for the comedy club (in English) and was definitely worth the visit! The host plus 6 comedians over a two hour show. I got more than I expected and would recommend to others to give it a go! Iâll be back!
Drinks were more expensive than I would have expected for this venue but I guess they need to make their money. Most tables didnât order a second...
