AVOID!||This is, at best, three-star accommodation. Reception staff were icy during check-in, and things were off to a rough start when they could not accommodate any of the room requests we sent in advance (away from an elevator; high floor). It was a busy weekend in Lisbon, so we took it in stride. ||Our room at first glance was completely fine, albeit basic: one pillow per bed, no duvet (just a thin sheet) and one bar of soap in the bathroom. As we got settled, things became progressively worse. The phone in our room was broken and two outlets didn’t work, thereby preventing us from ringing reception to request toilet paper. The beds must be very old because we could feel the springs poking into our backs all night— we each had a twin, by the way. ||While we unpacked my friend and I found, beside her bed, a used razor blade. It was really creepy, and we didn’t want to touch it. After some back-and-forth with the front desk (they initially asked we remove it ourselves with bare hands) we were told there was nothing they could do. No manager onsite, either. They offered us alternative room that had apparently been serviced, but there were dirty towels on the floor. We stayed with the first option. ||Other Cons:||- Construction and a busy thoroughfare outside make sleep impossible.|- WiFi signal is very weak.|- A strange, musty smell permeates the hotel (the ground and first floors in particular). They have an aroma machine plugged in that pumps an awful stench. |- Location is away from the city centre (but that isn’t their fault— just be wary when booking)|- Lack of soundproofing. We heard doors opening and shutting all night, as well as the guests on either side of us. |- There’s a kettle in the room, but it is not stocked.|- Beds are the worst I’ve ever slept on|||Had it not been such a busy weekend in the city, we would have gone elsewhere. Nearly a thousand euro for three nights?! You’d find better amenities and service at a...
Read moreThe hotel is situated outside of any main areas. But there is a metro 5mins away, which takes 20mins or so to get into town. This is reflected in the price. Ubers are also very cheap from centre to hotel - around €6 and takes 15mins. ||Hotel is very clean and house keeping did a good job everyday. ||Lobby bar disappointing, plastic chairs, drinks not great, more like a waiting area next to reception. So would have nightcap before going back to hotel. ||Air con in the room was terrible. To the point where you couldn’t sleep at times. Even on full blast, didn’t make a difference. ||For the price, it’s only the air con which was a disappointment, but staff could’ve been more friendly too. ||Would consider going back if new air con system was put in, as mentioned earlier the price reflected the distance from attractions, which is fine. ||Lastly, and not just this hotel, but very surprised at the full glass wall separating the bathroom and bedroom. Not sure anyone wants to see their partner or friend sitting on the toilet. ||You are completely exposed in the shower too, so not a room for friends to share. ||Worthwhile if looking for lower cost hotel but take the above points into...
Read moreI chose this hotel as it had good feedback, was a little out of the historic centre but had good transport links.
The hotel itself was new or certainly newly renovated, it was spotlessly clean The decor was largely white and it was nice and classy.
As a single traveller I was put in a single room on the seventh floor, I even got a small balcony. The room was plenty big enough, featured a TV where I could get BBC news and had a super comfy bed.
The partition between bathroom and bedroom is glass and some people have not liked this feature, it didn't bother me personally, in fact it was quite good for watching the Tele whilst showering.
The breakfast was good and easily manageable during my visit.
The staff all spoke good English, were pleasant enough and helpful when I made enquiries.
The sound proofing at this hotel is excellent. The location is on a busy crossroads and you get very little Impression whilst you are indoors.
Finally, there are lots of places to eat and drink within a five minute walk of the foyer.
A very good,...
