Silk Lisbon — Hotel in Lisbon

Stayed 2 nights I room 209. Arrived and found the room warm. Tried to adjust the air con but no joy, the only window in the room was off a sort of atrium which let in loads of noise of water coming down pipes from above.|Reported the hot room 22 degrees C to reception who said the Aircon was on a winter setting and they would contact management who where the only ones who could change it to a summer setting. Came back to the room at night and it was 27.5 degrees C. Slept terribly reported the problem again next morning same answer but nothing changed the next night either. Said we would be contacted by management but that didn't happen either. Overheard another couple with the same complaint. The Silk is located within an old apartment building up 4 flights of stairs and no lift so be prepared. Clean room, nice staff and decent breakfast for the money but 2 bad night's sleep...

What I like:||||I really loved the location of this place. It was within 5 few minutes walk to the metro that will get you anywhere and everywhere. Finding it once getting off metro from airport was also very easy. They gave me great directions. The area is safe and great to walk around in. The hotel itself was well kept and efficiently run. The room was large and bed comfortable.||||What I didn't like:||||I didn't like that there is no elevator. If you're carrying too much or have a large suitcase it may not be idle. I also didn't like that the walls are paper thin and I could hear other guests. Noise usually does not disturb me and I have high tolerance, however, it felt as though they were in the same room which felt weird and uncomfortable. This hotel was not what we expected. It is NOT on the first floor. You have to ring up to reception and then climb a couple of floors to find the entrance. It is in an apartment building. The hotel floor is like a world apart. Very nicely decorated with very friendly helpful staff. Room was tiny, as was the bathroom. But all was new, comfortable and convenient. They made sure that breakfast was ready for us, even tho we were leaving earlier than they usually serve. Very nice breakfast, with lots of choices of breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices & coffee. It was included in our price. Staff made very good recommendations for dinner...
