WOT Ericeira Lodge — Hotel in Mafra

We had a really nice stay here. The room was comfortable and clean — we had read some older reviews mentioning cleanliness issues, but it looks like they have fixed that, because for us everything was spotless. The location is right in the center of Ericeira, which is very convenient for exploring, though since the room is directly next to the street, it can get a bit noisy at night (earplugs recommended if you’re a light sleeper).

Breakfast was included in the price and served at the other hotel where you also check in and pick up the keys. The breakfast is the same every day, but still good quality and definitely a nice bonus considering the price. The staff were helpful with everything, and we even booked surf lessons through them for €35, which was cheaper than other places we found. The lessons were great!

Overall, this was one of the most affordable options in Ericeira, and for the price you get good vibes, a central location, clean rooms, and helpful staff. Great value if you’re traveling...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience regarding cleanliness. Despite writing to the staff several times about the state of the bathrooms, nothing was done.

There was often no toilet paper or paper towels available, and hand soap was missing. The showers have clearly not been properly cleaned in a long time: there are heavy lime scale deposits (Kalk) and visible mold in all showers. This is not only unpleasant but also unhygienic.

Although the hotel did replace paper towels and restock toilet paper when we complained, they never actually cleaned the bathrooms. This raises serious concerns about whether the entire place is being properly cleaned at all.

Additionally we would like to point out that you can absolutely hear everything from neighbours since the walls do not do anything against sound transmitting. Not a place for light sleepers.

I had pretty high expectations coming to the lodge because I knew it before as magic quiver lodge ... which was run pretty amazing. It’s basically just a hostel now. ||There is one tiny fridge (that is packed, can’t put more food) for all the guests in the entire place. Very loud ... doors don’t close well so you can hear everything everywhere. Our shower was broken, place smells not the best either. Other reviews on bookings.com say the same as me but I didn’t bother to check before I booked into Aktion because I figured they would keep the same standards as Magic Quiver. ||If your looking for a quick night stay or two and you eat out anyway then this might be nice. ||If your looking for a nice lodge where you can cook some stuff and it’s a bit more homey and taken care of then just book elsewhere. ||New owners don’t really seem to care. Totally different vibe...
