HOTEL AEROPORTO — Hotel in Maia

First of all, hotel is 2 star, not 3 star as advertised on most websites.

Stayed here 4 night. As big pluses room was clean and hotel staff was super nice. But that's it. Room small, for example I couldn't move chair from the table because of the bed being too close. Bed was hard and not comfortable. And the best/worst thing, absolutely no sound isolation from inside or outside of the hotel. So prepare for garage next door during day and screaming, banging of the doors, showering of people arriving till late night and also people leaving early morning for their flights. One night I had also bonus of barking dog in the hotel... And you will hear this sounds from all rooms around, or above your room, as also corridor is sort of square, which helps propagate the noise.

Because of this and associated sleep quality, worst hotel I slept in last 4 years (average 170 nights per year in hotels due work). 3/10, if it would be sold as 2 star hotel which it is (would not book in that case), probably...

A really good value 2/3 stars hotel and family owned. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. It's a good gem of an airport hotel and shouldn't be revealing it's good qualities as others might start staying over here in the future...and, breakfast has a great choice of food and drinks ! New updated rooms on a different wing which are modern and up to standards you'd expect. The taxi drivers at the airport know this hotel well and only a 15 minute drive or so with an average of €12/15 euros cost. Perfect for that stop over before a next day flight or venture in Porto city centre itself.

We stayed as a couple in October 2019 for a short night as we had an early morning flight. Staying next to the airport was a great solution as opposed to staying in the city and having to take a cab at dawn. We walked the city the day before and reached the hotel by subway in the evening. The closest station is about a 5 min. walk away. ||||This hotel is unassuming. We got a ground floor room facing the parking lot (I believe it was number 10). It was very quiet. I recommend locking bathroom and bedroom windows if you leave the room as they are easily accessible.||||The room is basic. We had two single very comfortable beds adjacent to each other and there was a small desk and chair and a small fridge with beverage in it available...
