We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group and pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. To my dismay, our group had been victims of racial discrimination by its staff. First off, our breakfast was served on a separate floor as the other guests who were Caucasians. Next, the servers would constantly grab our plates despite the fact that we were not even done with our meals. And worst of all, as I filled my water bottle to take with me to our room for my medications, the waiter rudely stopped me and grabbed it from me saying that it was not allowed. He went as far as shouting at my husband and making a gesture that he was about to punch my husband! I have travelled to different countries and stayed at different hotels. This is the only hotel who has ever stopped me from taking water to drink, having a waiter treating the guests so rudely, and serves breakfast at a different room as the rest of their guests! This is UNACCEPTABLE! We are paying guests and without us, your business is nothing. Stay away from this hotel! There are others in the area which I’m sure treats their guests well and with respect, no matter...
Read moreWe spent a weekend at the hotel as part of a large group. We were happy with the room and the staff but were disappointed with the food.||||The room was clean, modern and spacious. There was a small fridge that served as a mini-bar. The bathroom had a double sink and a nice walk-in shower.||||Secure parking is available in two underground levels, served by elevators.||||Wi-fi is free (unsecured network) and worked well.||||We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, at the desk, the bar and the dining rooms.||||The breakfast buffet was reasonable, with a variety of cooked and cold options. We ate two dinners and one lunch at the hotel and were disappointed with the variety and the standard. The buffet contained many of the same options for all three meals, with a little variety in the hot entree options. The vegetables were of the frozen variety that were too soft and tasteless. Rather than Portuguese food, the restaurant seems to provide more of an international menu. The food was the only disappointment for us...
Read moreVisited with a group on a full board basis so expectations were not particularly high regarding the catering in what is obviously a medium/large hotel handling diverse groups. On the positive side the hotel, though dated, was very clean throughout.|The big letdowns were staff attitude, mostly sullen and no attempt to engage with customers and, secondly the standard of the food which was grim. Fish and Meat dishes were mushy and poor quality, fruit selection sparse and worst, for me, so many dishes that should have been hot were very cold with little evidence of any attempt to heat.|One really black mark was a sullen lady who seemed to be a supervisor slagging off our group as rude, ungrateful to a colleague in Portuguese unaware that a customer could understand what she was saying. A group by the way who were always respectful and...
