Staff did not speak English at all.at the check in, the welcome wast as we expected Housekeeping/ Receptionist/Owner told us in Portuguese the we were late that the time that they expected us to arrive there..which we dont know why they thought that we would arrive early...No Help with the luggage at the check-in or check-out..we booked our stay for 8 night...we entered in the room, which was on first floor, after the kitchen.the Bathroom was very antigenic dirty...the bed sheets were not clean and the mattress was full of cigarets burn, which maybe is been done on purpose to cover other marks ..the room cleaning you need to ask for it, otherwise you can stay a week without anyone cleaning it, and you need to ask for anything, nothing is prevented offered (they have a fridge and kitchen available for the guest but we never been told at the check in, after 3 days i ask if i could put meal in the fridge, and i been told that we have a kitchen available for the guest.... Was very noisy, you cant sleep quietly for many reason:the internal reason is because at the entrance they have a bell, as soon sameone walks in or out, the bell rings 2 times (each person)..then is situate in a mean road and the windows have a very thin glasses, so you feel each cars in the bedroom.then in the late night there is a prostitution business just out side the Hotel, apparently they have a House just 2 blocks away from the Hotel, so if you go out for dinner on your way back if it is just after 23 you will not feel safe to walk over there. On the front of our room there is a Gipsy Garage/House which they look every time in the room from out side as soon you open the windows..and 1 day we notice that in the town center were a lady asking for Charity out side a church and that lady is one of the neighbors of the hotel.Regarding internally issues, i have asked a Jung guy,how does the room cleaning work, do we need to pay additional for the room clean? because was 4 days that in my room was only emptied the bin and give clean tower, but the room was dirty ,so the Jung guy said to us no!you dont have to pay additional but you have to ask for the clean otherwise how they are suppose to know that???then i went back to my room and after a few minute i heard the Housekeeping/ Receptionist/Owner get very hungry with the young boy regarding my question to him.then this lady as per my request the day after clean my room, which i wasnt happy anyway with the cleaning, but i didnt say anything... anyway the lady didn`t speck with me for 2 days, she was clearly hungry with me..a lots of the time i was very close to check out early and ask for a refund and go else were, but then we decided to stay more time possible out side around in the city...anyway in just a few more worlds i will say that this stay...
Read moreOkay! Let me start with the pungent odor that comes from the bathroom that is on another level. Absolutely vile and we've never experienced such a situation. The smell seems to come from inside the drains. The shower cubicle was extremely small, damaged and surrounded with this dirty curtain that we couldn't have a proper shower without it getting stuck on our skin.
The shower head it self blocked out and the water cuts and get cold during use. The other appliances like, toilet and bidet right beside each other at the corner of this tiny space with a sink blocking it from being properly used. Stinking! Absolutely unreal. They also don't provide shower gel or shampoo and the toilet roll disintegrates in your hand.
The bedroom was at the attic, and very, very tiny - and there are only a very small window at the very top corner of it to ventilate and no natural light. The pillows are terrible. Completely threadbare and just one per person.
The location is great and the price also. Wifi also wouldn't connect. There are only one socket/plug in the room. Also beware of extra fees upon arrival at check in. We were charged a "room tax/city council tax" or something. It was €2 per person per night. Not exactly mega bucks but still an unexpected expense for those travelling...
Read moreWe were staying there with a friend. Although we ordered a double room with bathroom, our bathroom was shared and on the second floor, we were living on the first floor! The price was low but for that price, better places are available for sure...||We arrived at midnight, the guy at the reception didn't care to help us, also he didn't speak any english, although in booking.com it is stated that they do. The room had a smell of mold and it was really cold inside (we went there in January and the tempreture outside was +13/+15). Also sheets were old and they didn't really care to change towels or something, which also was impossible to get dry as it was no place for that.||Everytime we were comming back late at night, the reception guy was looking at us as we did something wrong. The street itself doesn't look really safe. And the reception guy reacts to everything like it was a big deal. My portuguese friend came over to take us to the airport and help with luggage, so the guy was really pissed, started screaming that he will have to pay and etc. And it took a while, while we could enter the room just to take our stuff. The stay was very unpleasant and we tried to stay out of the hostel as much as possible. I wouldn't recommend...
