Hotel Jaguar — Hotel in Porto

We chose this hotel for our last night in Portugal to be close to the airport. I don't think their "free airport shuttle" is very useful since it only operates 8am - 8pm! That means it's only good for outgoing flights from 11am or later so you have time to get through security, or flights arriving by 730pm or so since you'd need to get your luggage. The rooms were well stocked and included a fruit plate, water, and cookies which was a nice surprise! The rooms were clean except for a gross stainless steel toothbrush cup in the bathroom - who is using that anyway?!? 🤢 Aside from that, all looked good. Oh, beware about taking anything - there's a price list in the bathroom: $400 for the TV, $25 for the slippery mats by the bedside, some amount for the scale. Nutso. Who's stealing bathroom scales?? The common areas were compact but we didn't hang out there anyway. Street noise made it hard for my husband to sleep. Oh, and if you open the window it's way different than the USA - like, it opens fully, no screen, no safety measures to keep people from falling out!

The staff was very friendly! They pointed us to the metro and gave us cards to use to add value to which saved us ,60...

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, which exceeded my expectations in every way. The stylish interior and well-appointed rooms provided a luxurious and comfortable experience. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the outstanding level of service.

During our stay, we encountered an unexpected problem when our rental car broke down. The hotel staff went above and beyond to assist us in this stressful situation. Not only did they attempt to see if the car could be fixed, but they also took the initiative to contact the rental company on our behalf, arranged for a tow truck, and ultimately organized a transfer to the airport for us.

A special mention must go to the hotel manager, who demonstrated remarkable organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved, including the rental company and the tow truck driver. Her professionalism and dedication turned a potentially disastrous situation into a smooth and hassle-free experience.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for anyone seeking not only a beautiful and well-equipped place to stay but also an exceptional level of customer service that truly makes you feel...

Nice hotel although a little out of town, a 20 min walk or 4 euro taxi away.

Staff were lovely, and the airport shuttle worked well as we were whisked to and from the airport in a modern Tesla car.

Couple of things we found a little strange, in the room is a list of every item in the room and how much you will be charged if you steal it! I didn't really expect to start my holiday by checking against this list to ensure everything was in place as I took the room over to avoid being charged for it!

Also the room and bathroom is quite dark with limited daylight - it has a number of lights but they are low power LED down lights that don't provide much light - it needs a big mirror with a big bright light source to help people get ready / shave each day!

Space to charge devices (we had a power bank, 2 phones, 2 watches and 2 headphones) is a bit limited, we moved a bedside lamp to the floor to free up surface space near a power outlet to charge our 7 devices.

I would recommend this hotel, but would recommend the owners look at increasing room lighting and maybe removing the 'we think you are going to steal from...
