Quite by chance we came past this Italian restaurant which is not really close to the pulsating city life. After a terrible experience with another Italian restaurant we didn't really feel like trying another one for our last evening in Porto but while we were scanning the menu a very nice man opened the door and told us the specials of the day. We were sold after the sea bass and salmon and in we went... The atmosphere is nice, not especially Italian but furniture and interior are tasteful and modern and we felt comfortable.
I started with one of the many Portuguese craft beers on the menu while my wife had a glass of vinho verde. For starters we ordered olives and a "small" garlic bread. In the end it was two small servings of olives, marinated in lovely herbs, garlic and olive oil - and the fairly big garlic bread came straight out of the oven, also with herbs and cheese, like a focaccia. Both were delicious 😋 and we were afraid we couldn't finish our main course.
The salmon with dijon mustard and ginger was cooked to the point and the pasta underneath was still a bit al dente. Perfect. My wife's sea bass on a potato mousse with vegetables was the same - absolutely cooked to the point. We both managed to finish our plates because it was soooo good.
The whole staff was super nice and courteous. The whole dinner felt very "upper class". Since we didn't ask for the prices of the dishes before we were really surprised about the fair total of our bill... Top value for money.

Read moreMy husband and I dined at Mamma Mia! yesterday and I must say, it was a pleasant surprise! As someone who's very particular about Italian food, I was delighted to find that not only was the food really good, but the service was outstanding as well. Being a vegetarian with dairy restrictions, I was worried about finding suitable options, but the waitress went above and beyond to offer me fantastic alternatives.
Initially, I hesitated to make extra requests, so I ordered the garlic bread without cheese (knowing it was made with butter) and a mushroom pizza without cheese. However, the waitress kindly suggested preparing the garlic bread with olive oil and adding fresh mushrooms. It was the most accommodating experience I've had at a restaurant. The food was truly delicious, with fresh mushrooms that were not canned, and the pizza dough was perfection.
My husband ordered the spaghetti Bolognese, and he loved the sauce and pasta. One aspect we particularly appreciated was the option to choose between a small and large pizza, making it perfect for any appetite.
I wholeheartedly recommend Mamma Mia! to everyone seeking great Italian food and attentive service. Thank you for the wonderful...

We were scanning the menu when the waiter came out to offer us help. The specials of the day sounded so delicious that we decided to go in.
From the moment the waiter helped us outside until the moment we left, the service was amazing, extremely attentive to us and everyone around us.
We ordered a small garlic bread and olives to start. The garlic bread was focaccia with herbs, garlic and cheese, it was delicious.
My husband and I both ordered the specials, mine was a fillet of sea bass on a bed of creamy potato with grilled vegetables, it was incredible. My husband had the salmon fillet with tagliatelle. The pasta sauce had a hint of Dijon mustard and ginger, the fish was cooked to perfection.
My husband ordered a locally brewed beer and I had two different glasses of vino Verde, both delicious.
I highly recommend this restaurant to you. It was a great find for us and we want you to share the same great experience that we had. One last thing, great quality and not at...
