Porto Est. 1830 — Hotel in Porto

Quiet street, centrally located close to lots of quality restaurants and bars and easy access to the Metro which is quite literally a 5 minute walk away. The owners, a young couple, provided an impeccable service and were extremely warm and welcoming. David and Maria take an obvious pride in providing a high level of service for their guests evident from the little touches put in place such as the complimentary port and glasses in the room. We were late arrivals and the arrangements for access were simple and straightforward with thoughtful welcome pack waiting for us at reception with all the information we needed. Our room was excellent, spacious and spotlessly clean with a supply of teas, coffee and bottled water. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable and the housekeeping service very efficient and accommodating. We can absolutely say we enjoyed our stay there, our hosts were happy to provided us with recommendations on places to eat, trips etc. which was very much appreciated as this was our first trip to Porto. A small, cosy newly renovated hotel in the heart of Porto. Rooms were very clean with modern touches and the beds were very comfortable. We had few small issues :no tea or coffee in the room (but kettle and tea cups)our friends couldn't watch the TV, we could only watch Netflix but theirs was locked. These issues couldn't be resolved as the hotel is unattended from 5pm until the morning. The rooms are victim to very loud street noise due to busy bars open until the early hours (the rooms were supplied with ear plugs). We did stay on a Saturday so it may not be as bad in the week. Breakfast was small buffet style continental which was good, I especially enjoyed the homemade Apple hal which was delicious. Great location and Easy to find, 10mins from Sao Bento and 5mins from Clergios Tower. Lookout for the yellow space alien but don’t let the street put you off. ||Lovely welcome, we were quite early but were given coffee and cake, and allowed to drop our bags. |There’s always cake on the reception desk. ||Very clean and tidy, our room was just the right size for two with a massive comfortable bed, and a balcony overlooking the front. Yes it can be a bit noisy into the early hours with the bars and clubs nearby but with the windows and shutters shut the room is well sound proofed and Ear plugs are provided.
