If José Avillez and your Portuguese grandma had a love child, it would be this restaurant. A holy temple of petiscos where the octopus melts in your mouth, and the alheira makes you question every life decision that didn’t involve eating here.
🎤 Fado nights? Yes. I’ve shed tears into my caldo verde. 🍷 Wine? Of course. Two glasses in, and even I start singing fado. 🥘 Food? Better than my mom’s (sorry, mom).
The vibe? Somewhere between an elevated tasca and a no-frills, all-flavor gastronomic experience—just damn good food, great people, and a wine list that makes you want to move to Porto just to become a regular.

However the extra bread that we ordered came not fully defrosted and baked (still frozen a bit in the middle) while warm on the outside. I did not care much as I was hungry. Read moreThis little restaurant is a great example of what's lovely about Porto. Walked by last night, looking for a place to eat and the waiter said hello and said "your table is waiting for you"! I really appreciate friendly service, and the guy here was very cool and charming.
We had a few dishes and beers, the tomato salad, patron peppers, blood sausage and the flaming sausage plate too. Which my partner LOVED for the holiday theatre alone.
Great spot in a buzzing neighbourhood. And incredibly well priced for the service...
