Pensão França — Hotel in Porto

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this accommodation, which turned out to be the worst part of my trip. The room was extremely dirty and poorly maintained, with bedsheets covered in small black spots and a duvet that had visible cigarette burn marks. The lighting in the room was broken, and the whole environment felt unclean and unhygienic.

To make matters worse, the hostel required us to leave the key outside the unattended reception desk every time we went out, which raised serious security concerns. When I raised these issues with the staff, they offered to move us to another room, but the alternative was just as bad, so we had no choice but to leave and book somewhere else at our own expense.

The reviews on Agoda were generally positive, which is why I booked this place in the first place. However, after my experience, I checked Google reviews and found similar complaints to what I experienced. This inconsistency in reviews is misleading and unacceptable.

For the same price, you can easily find much better accommodations that are cleaner, safer, and meet basic hospitality standards. I cannot recommend this...

Stayed here from 5.6.17 until 9.6.17|Location was great, got the tram from Porto airport to trindade and was only a ten minute walk from trindade station.|The hotel was in a central location, facing the universidade of Porto, 10 minute walk to ribeira square and 10 minute walk to jardins do palacio Cristal. Staff very polite and friendly and helped us with a few questions we had about trips to visit and also gave us information on how to get to matosinhos beach. Wifi worked in rooms and rooms were seen to every day given new clean towels and toilet roll, price was very reasonable too £120 for 4 nights in June. I stayed here in 29.08 to 2.09.23. While it is some time ago, I want to warn other guests that this place was full of Bed Bugs and from more recent reviews I see that not much has improved. I was severely bitten during my stay, and when I complained and raised this issue to Booking.com, I only got 25 Euro back, when all the medical treatment and doctors visits exceeded 180 EUR. It really ruined the rest of my holiday. When I raised the point to the owners, they were really ignorant and laughted in my face. Be careful and better avoid. The only plus point was...
