Great bed and breakfast style Quinta perched just above Sintra’s historic district. This Quinta features a heated pool with a gorgeous view of the valley. On a clear day you can see the ocean. We were welcomed by Armie, a delightful, warm hostess. This property serves breakfast and dinners (reservations required). Our dinners were tasty and beautifully prepared. We enjoyed Salmon Wellington, Adobe Pork, Ravioli & Veal in a pastry. Highly recommend this property for couples or small groups. The only “con” possibly is location. It is located on the road leading to Castelo dos Mouros & Pena Palace. The road is one way heading up to those sites. We were quite tired after our day so we required a taxi ride back to the Quinta. Taxis are available at train station. But we waded thru Sintra traffic which can be quite lengthy. Not a big deal just know that when planning your day trips.

After visiting Sintra we decided to check out of our hotel in Lisbon early and stay on the last night in Sintra. I’m so glad we found this little gem. The location is perfect for a peaceful stay and easy access to the centre walking takes about 15 minutes. The bus stop is just outside the gate and took us to the Pena palace and moorish castle but the highlight of our stay was Armie and Melanie and their incredible hospitality. I recommend eating here as Armie is an amazing chef and it was so romantic dining al fresco with the palace in view. Leka the beautiful dog is also super friendly and kept us company. We love it so much we are already planning our next stay.

We chose the separate 2 bedroom house Casa da Lula and we couldn't;t have been happier. From the moments that we arrived by Uber - we were warmly greeted by Armie and made to feel at home. We had tons of personal space and the wee unit was well set up. ||A special comment has to go to the quality of the amenities. This was part of a 7 week trip in Italy and Portugal. This is the ONLY place where the shampoo and conditioner were of a quality that I felt I could use. It was a real treat!!||You need to be aware that the unit is downstairs form the upstairs unit so you might hear those above you. It was not a problem for us. In fact - the family above us had left - gone to they r new accomodation and came straight back to Quinta Velha because it was so good. We should have learnt from them and used Uber delivery to secure a few basic groceries but there was very little we needed as breakfast was fabulous (and included) and we chose to eat every night at the house and enjoy Armie's fabulous cooking.||The bus stops right outside and it is cheaper to buy the day pass online. We walked the path form the property down on our first day but it is pretty tough going and not for the faint hearted. ||We loved the pool area and enjoyed a dip each day. it I heated so that was helpful as Sintra can be a little cooler than Lisbon (which was a good thing!). Come prepared for all weather. Don't fall for the tuk tuk drivers...use the circular bus and it's super easy to get around.||Thankyou Armie for being such an...

Our stay at Eighteen21houses was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Armie, our hostess, extended the warmest hospitality, making us feel like cherished guests in this beautiful home. She is a sweetheart and a great cook.

The culinary experience was delightful and cozy. A home cooked meal and amazing breakfast with fresh eggs and warm croissants.

The location of Eighteen21houses is simply breathtaking. Nestled in nature's embrace, it provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It truly felt like an oasis of tranquility, where we could unwind and rejuvenate.

The attention to detail and care for our comfort was evident in every aspect of our stay. The house was immaculately maintained, and every need was anticipated and met promptly.

Our room was a work of art with an exceptional view that left us spellbound. Waking up to the picturesque scenery was a dream come true.

The presence of the friendly dogs Laika and Clara that live on site are a big plus for us. We love dogs!

In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend Eighteen21houses to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating getaway. Armie's hospitality, the delicious cuisine, the stunning location, and the overall experience make it a must-visit destination. We can't wait to return and savor this hidden...

We arrived quite early, hoping to just leave our bags, and were greeted warmly by the owner, Rodrigo, who showed us around the property. They rushed to get our accommodations ready, and while we waited, Armie gave us delicious homemade chocolate cake. Great start!||The property is lovely and quiet. Sintra is crowded, so it was nice to get away from the hordes. We didn't have a car, so we got around by walking or by Bolt. There is a shaded walk through the woods into town. One thing to be aware of is that it is uphill coming back. We made the climb multiple times, but we are fairly fit. The guesthouse is only a 7-minute drive from Pena Palace.||You can see the sea in the distance from the heated pool. Breakfast is very good. On request, Armie will prepare a very good dinner for you in the garden with views of Pena Palace.||We stayed in the Casa da Burra, which we loved--very private, extremely modern inside with a kitchen and washer. It is very attractively decorated. .||One last comment--Armie manages the place and also cooks breakfast and dinner. She speaks English beautifully and is absolutely charming. She made our stay especially nice. Every hotel should have an Armie. We would stay here again...
