Hambúrguer Real — Restaurant in Sintra

I wouldn't recommend this "restaurant". It isn't about the food, it's about the scammer scheme the employees carried out. We were a group of seven and just wanted to have a nice lunch in Sintra. This was the only place with enough space for all of us... now we see why. When we ordered our burgers, the waitress insisted that we order drinks, because fries and drinks were included. Not all of us wanted anything to drink, but we ordered because of her. ("It's included" - she said and I quote) She also offered us mayo and ketchup for the burgers and we took them too. But when they brought us the bill, the amount of money was double from what we calculated. We checked it up and saw that they charged us for all of the drinks and the two mayos. We weren't happy with it, but decided to be tolerant and paid all of it without saying anything. We just wanted to give the manager feedback of what happened. She came and it was obvious that she was aware of this little play and was totally ok with it. We tried to explain to her, that this isn't right and that it's not about the money, it's about the lack of respect to the clients. She didn't even listen to us, she started arguing and tried to prove herself and the staff innocent. She pretended to not understand us and started talking about the kids menu and that it included a soft drink. We saw that earlier and were fully aware of it, but had nothing to do with what the waitress did. So we just left the place and hopefully we won't get back there again. My wife and I decided to eat burgers here and the whole experience was disappointing from the taste of the food to the customer service. The fries that came with the burgers were cold. We got goat cheese added to our burgers and it had a tough consistency and tasted really weird. Definitely not the goat cheese we have experienced anywhere else. The goat cheese completely threw off the tasted of the burgers, it tasted wired and smelled weird. The beef burger patties were overcooked and tasted really bland. Like eating cardboard.

We asked for some type of sause to add the burgers and fries they suggested a home made garlic/mayo sauce which was good, but it was such a tiny little container, which they charged us an extra euro each. Usually that is free.

Also they charged us 5 euros for small 2 bottled waters. The water most places around there costs $1. They didn’t offer filtered water.

I would never go back here and it felt like they did everything possible to up-charge us. I couldn’t wait to pay our bills and get...

My girlfriend wanted to order the burger with shrimp, pineapple, and yogurt sauce on it. However, she didn't want shrimp on her burger - so she simply asked to have it removed while we were ordering.

The waitress was incredibly rude and short about this request, insisting that if she didn't want shrimp on the burger, order a different one. No other burger contained the same ingredients as this one, so that didn't make any sense.

She insisted multiple times that if "she" were to eat the burger, it wouldn't make sense without the shrimp. Well, "she" wasn't going to eat the burger, my girlfriend was.

The waitress' attitude was quite rude and short, and really didn't make us feel comfortable, at all, after her response. We got up, left, and will never insist on anyone attempting to make a simple change to the menu (removing an ingredient)
