InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa by IHG — Hotel in Doha

InterContinental Doha Beach and SPA is the very definition of class and hospitality you’ll never forget.

I’m a Platinum member of the IHG Rewards program and have stayed at many of their hotels, but InterContinental Doha Beach and SPA is hands down the best of them all. This place truly deserves to be called a flagship IHG property. Not just because of its standards, but because of the genuinely human approach to guests.

I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the Diplomatic Suite. It’s a spacious, elegant room with a stunning view of the Persian Gulf and the hotel pool. A view you could stare at for hours, especially at sunrise and sunset. The suite was spotless, smelled fresh, and was tastefully decorated - classy and comfortable, without any artificial flashiness.

Cleanliness and attention to detail are clearly top priorities here. Not only in the rooms, but also in the common areas, on the beach, by the pool, and in the spa. Everything is perfectly taken care of.

And now, the most important part - the people. The way we were treated exceeded every expectation. Special thanks go to Kamal, Pauline, and John from the Coral restaurant. They are incredibly kind, attentive, always smiling, and truly helpful at every step. It’s obvious this isn’t just trained customer service - it’s genuine hospitality. We’ve become friends and will definitely stay in touch.

Coral is one of several restaurants in the hotel. We had both breakfast and dinner there, and the experience was outstanding every time. The food was full of flavor, made with high-quality ingredients, well-balanced, and never overdone. We even got to meet the chef, who came out to speak with us during dinner and again in the morning at breakfast - asking what we enjoyed, if anything could be improved, and if everything was alright. That kind of personal touch creates trust and a real connection. You could feel the authenticity here - not just some corporate protocol. The variety of dishes was so great and the quality so high that it was impossible to try everything, especially since some of the menu changed daily.

The pool and beach? Top notch. The pool is clean, spacious, and well-organized. The staff by the water are discreet yet alert. Lifeguards responded instantly to any risky situations - like kids playing dangerously. Just as it should be. The beach is private, safe, with soft sand and a gorgeous bay. An ideal place to disconnect from the noise. Every day there were activities - kayaking, pedal boats, or quick SUP lessons.

We also used the hotel’s laundry service - everything was done promptly and with care. The clothes came back fresh, neatly folded, and smelling great. A small thing, but it made a big difference in comfort.

Another important thing - a strong sense of safety. The whole place is well secured, without being overbearing. You feel free, relaxed, and truly looked after.

InterContinental Doha Beach and SPA is where luxury meets genuine hospitality. It’s not just a place to stay - it’s a place where you actually rest. From the people, to the food, to the little details in the room - everything tells you that your presence here matters.

There’s a metro station right next to the hotel, a small convenience store, and a bus stop nearby. One metro stop north takes you to Katara, one stop south to the city center. The area itself is calm and quiet.

This was our second visit to the Intercontinental Beach & Spa Resort, Doha and it lived up to the experience we had on our first stay.

We were greeted by dedicated, warm, friendly and caring staff ensuring our first impression was welcoming, from the concierge staff, doormen to the security staff through to reception.

We were escorted to the 'Club Lounge' to complete check-in in a flawless procedure and looked after by Sandy and again on checking out. What a warm, caring, lovely young lady. A true credit to the hotel. She said, she remembered us from our last visit, which was two years ago. We were offered refreshments during check-in and my IHG status recognised.

The lounge area is a comfortable environment to relax in and enjoy all the benefits associated with the lounge experience.

We had a choice to take breakfast within in the lounge or main restaurant. Always choose the lounge as it was more a personal service, everything you needed with a very good choice of hot and cold food to set you up for the day.

Afternoon tea was to die for and a nice selection of canapés (both hot and cold) and drinks for the evening cocktails.

A big shout out must go to all the staff who worked within the lounge, Sandy, Camille, Denson, Darlyn, Agnes, Charisse, Bimala & Goma and anyone else who I might have missed by not remembering or asking their name. They were all true ambassadors and a credit to the Intercontinental Brand, who went above and beyond. A real pleasure to be looked after by everyone of them.

The room (upgraded from city view to beach/sea view) was spacious, clean and well appointed with a comfortable bed.

The whole hotel was spotless, all staff acknowledged you. Even wishing you a pleasent day when leaving and welcoming you back on your return.

There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool and on the beach. Free bottled water was also available from the towel shack.

Hotel ground are pleasing, kept clean and well maintained.

There are various restaurants throughout the hotel. We choose to eat in Mykonos, a Greek restaurant. Excellent choice with great tasty food.

In all a very memorable stay in a first class hotel with friendly dedicated staff to ensure you have a memorable experience.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the metro station 'Al Qassar' for exploring Doha. A metro day pass is so cheap (around £1.15). Al Qassar is also on the direct line to the airport and takes around 20 minutes.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental hotel and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was personally escorted to my room with a smile.

The room itself was immaculate – spacious, tastefully decorated, and filled with thoughtful amenities like a plush bed, high-quality linens, and a coffee station that felt like a little luxury every morning. The housekeeping team did an outstanding job each day, keeping everything spotless.

What really set this hotel apart was the attention to detail and level of service. Every staff member I interacted with was warm, helpful, and professional. Whether I needed local recommendations, extra towels, or help booking transportation, they were always ready to assist.

The on-site restaurant was another highlight. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of fresh options, and the dinner menu was absolutely delicious – definitely worth dining in even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

During our holiday, we had the pleasure of dining at the Coral Restaurant — and what truly made the experience unforgettable was the outstanding service we received from Adil.

From the moment we arrived, Adil welcomed us with genuine warmth and professionalism. He had the perfect balance of attentiveness and friendliness, always ensuring we were comfortable without ever being intrusive. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on — every dish he suggested was absolutely delicious.

What really stood out was Adil’s attention to detail. He remembered our preferences from a previous visit, made thoughtful suggestions based on our tastes, and even surprised us with a small dessert treat on our last night, which made us feel truly special. It’s rare to encounter someone who takes such pride in their work and clearly enjoys making guests feel welcome and cared for.

The location was ideal – close to major attractions but still peaceful and quiet, which made for great sleep every night. The hotel’s gym and spa facilities were also top-notch and well maintained.
