I recently stayed at the St. Regis Doha, and while there were certainly some highlights, the overall experience fell short of expectations.
Starting with the positives: the staff were truly outstanding—always warm, smiling, and eager to assist. The butler service was a standout feature, helping with unpacking and packing, offering daily ironing for one item, and serving complimentary welcome coffee or tea.
The room itself was spacious (44m²), and I really appreciated the excellent air conditioning, strong water pressure in the shower, and the quality of the in-room amenities. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a lovely selection of complimentary fruits and sweets—a thoughtful gesture, even if it was part of my Gold tier benefits. Additionally, a small tent was set up for my child in the room, which was another special touch that made the stay feel more personalized and family-friendly.
In the lobby, there’s a charming kids' corner with candy jars, as well as a stand offering complimentary Arabic coffee and sweets—both thoughtful additions that reflect local hospitality and attention to detail.
However, several aspects of the stay were disappointing. I have a strong allergy to smoke, and although I was given a non-smoking room (which thankfully had no smell), the floor I was assigned to had both smoking and non-smoking rooms. As a result, the corridors—especially near the elevators—had a heavy smoke odor, making it very uncomfortable to wait there.
There was also no place in the bathroom to hang wet clothes, which felt like a major oversight for a beach and poolside hotel. The valet service was slow; I waited 15 minutes for my car one day, and this delay had nothing to do with outside events or traffic. In-room service was also inconsistent—it took over 30 minutes and a follow-up call just to get a blanket delivered.
Wi-Fi is limited to Gold-tier members and above, and even then, the connection was weak and kept disconnecting—a frustrating issue in a property of this caliber.
The pool area is spacious and includes great touches like cold towels, water, chilled melon, and air beds for kids. However, nearly half of the pool is very deep, which isn’t ideal for families. It’s honestly been a long time since I’ve seen a family-friendly hotel pool that deep. With only two lifeguards on duty during crowded times, it didn’t feel as safe or as relaxed as it should.
Breakfast was also below expectations—it deserves its own review, which I’m currently preparing. I did share my feedback with the restaurant manager, who was receptive and promised to work on the issues mentioned.
In summary, while the staff were genuinely fantastic and there were thoughtful amenities and gestures—especially for Gold members—the overall experience didn’t justify the high price. Due to the smoke exposure, service delays, and a few frustrating oversights, I wouldn’t choose to stay at this...
Read moreI am writing to express our deep dissatisfaction with the way we were treated during our recent stay at your property. What should have been a relaxing and premium experience turned into a frustrating example of poor communication, lack of accountability, and utter disregard for the guest. We had booked a room for the day, fully aware of the high cost, with the intention of enjoying your facilities — particularly the pool. Since we were leaving very early the next morning and would not be able to have the included breakfast, we made a very simple and reasonable request: to use the value of the breakfast for brunch on Friday, which we were already planning to enjoy on-site.The response? Total silence. We spoke to no fewer than five different staff members throughout the day — from the front desk to the concierge to the pool team — and every single one of them said they would “get back to us.” None of them did. Not one. It was very clear that nobody cared, and no one had any intention of actually resolving the request. We weren’t asking for a favour — we were simply asking for fair use of what we had already paid for.At check-out, we were told a manager was “on their way” to speak to us. We waited. No one came. We eventually had to leave for the airport, completely ignored. This is not just bad service — it is institutional indifference, wrapped in the illusion of luxury. It’s a customer experience that looks polished from the outside, but is hollow at its core. The room itself was fine, nothing to complain about but also nothing memorable. By Doha standards, we’ve experienced much better. The real disappointment, however, lies in how we were treated: with apathy, avoidance, and a complete lack of respect for our time or for the money we spent. To add insult to injury, we received two identical, pre-printed “welcome” notes in the room — impersonal, robotic, and meaningless. A superficial gesture that only confirmed how little real care or attention exists behind the scenes. As for the poolside staff — including a gentleman named Ahmed and a Greek woman — they, too, avoided our repeated and polite inquiries. By the end of the day, they wouldn’t even make eye contact. This speaks volumes. We also dined at OPA — another mistake. A loud, overpriced spectacle with none of the substance or quality you would expect at those price points. Have you been to Cipriani? That’s what real service and real quality look like. You might want to take notes. All in all, our stay at the St. Regis Doha was an unfortunate detour from our usual Doha standards — and a mistake we won’t be repeating.I hope this feedback prompts real reflection. Because what we experienced was not five-star hospitality. It...

From the moment I stepped into this hotel, I knew I was somewhere exceptional. If there’s any place that truly deserves a constellation of stars, it’s this one.
A small hiccup with my booking was swiftly and graciously resolved by the front desk team, under the impeccable leadership of Duty Manager Omar. His professionalism, warmth, and efficiency set the tone for my entire stay. Frankly, this gentleman could easily be the hotel’s general manager. nothing was too much to ask. Every request was met with a solution, always delivered with calm and class. Omar, thank you from the heart , your hospitality defines true luxury.
The housekeeping team, a wonderful mix of nationalities, brought with them not just skill but joy. Their smiles were as warm as the Doha sun. Special recognition goes to Hazim from Algeria, who ensured everything in my room was flawless, down to the smallest detail.
Out by the pool and beach, I was in awe. Despite the soaring temperatures, the staff worked tirelessly, always with grace and a genuine smile. Emilia, in particular, moved from guest to guest, ensuring that everyone was happy and well cared for , a true ambassador of service excellence.
As someone who pays attention to detail, I watched the staff throughout my stay , and I must say, not one misstep. Everything and everyone was simply outstanding.
A small culinary note: while the salad dressings could use more variety (lemon, salt, and olive oil featured often), this is a minor point amid an otherwise superb dining experience.
Speaking of food , the hotel hosts some of Doha’s most exquisite restaurants. Novikov is a gem with an exquisite atmosphere and flawless cuisine. OPA, the Greek restaurant, is a must for those who love vibrant flavors and an elevated experience.
If nightlife calls, the hotel doesn’t disappoint , Sax Bar and Bottega Negra offer a fantastic energy. Prefer something quieter? The cigar lounge features a live pianist and singer , the perfect place to unwind with sophistication.
Even in the lobby, you’re spoiled for choice , from Fauchon Café to cozy meeting spots, everything is curated for comfort and class.
A special nod to the valet parking team: fast, organized, and consistently courteous, even during peak hours. They truly manage the chaos with elegance. No wonder celebrities and VIPs choose this hotel , it effortlessly balances glamour, efficiency, and heart.
Without question, this is the finest hotel in Qatar. I leave with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for everyone who made this...
