I wasn’t going to write this review until I experienced a similar rude episode at Lemon Garden D2. While visiting Astor grill, things went relatively well up until getting the bill. The porterhouse steak was good, the Argentinian Angus and burger were edible. Things went downhill from there! My hotel stay came packaged with food and board options that the head waitress could not understand and she was trying to convince me that I was wrong even after showing met my booking. Then she made us wait for over 20 minutes until she got them through her head. After that, she proceeded to have her junior waitress Erin present me with the bill. The bill was still wrong; they charged me for an extra bottle of San Pelegríno 1 Liter bottle, I did not want to argue further and wanted to just get the hell out of there, so I proceeded to charge it to my room and left. The surprise came at checkout when I found out they had submitted a second receipt attempting again to charge me for the discounted items they took off the previous night. The front office staff were very understanding and removed the charge immediately. On top of the restaurant management being ignorant and argumentative with the client, they were very sleazy in attempting to slip the charge again. Always double check the bill at the restaurant and at checkout. Unfortunately, I would also recommend taking pictures of your receipts (not the sort of thing you would expect to need to do at...
Read moreJust been to Business Lunch (two courses 100 QAR three courses 120 QAR both including water and soft drinks). Service = exceptional. Food quality = exceptional. Food quantity = A LOT! First time I’ve been for business lunch and it is definitely one of the best in Doha, the included water (Aqua Panna) is a big plus for me.
I had two courses and I’m a big eater and I only just managed to eat most of the food, there’s no way I could have managed three courses.
My friend wanted two extra sides above what was included and was expecting to pay for these but the manager Mr Paddy would not accept any additional payment.
Dress code is smart casual but for Business Lunch us men wearing shorts was not a problem, another massive plus because we have been refused entry in other establishments (which had no customers).
Thank you Astor Grill, the best high end but relaxed Business Lunch in Qatar.
Can’t wait for to go back ASAP.
Update 29/07/24 Have returned quite a few times for Business Lunch in the last few months and it is still fantastic. Food, service and price all excellent.
Have also been recommending to friends and colleagues and they have all been impressed.
The staff remember us from our previous visits and it was a very very nice touch to receive a divine fruit platter with compliments from the restaurant today. Thank you all at Astor Grill....
Read moreAstor Grill in Doha delivers a refined dining experience with an exceptional blend of flavors and ambiance. Situated within The St. Regis, it presents a chic, yet cozy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed lunch. The decor is elegant with modern touches, creating a sophisticated setting.
For lunch, I started with the prawns curry and Burrata Salad, which was fresh and creamy, balanced by vibrant tomatoes and a tangy vinaigrette. For the main, I opted for their signature Wagyu. The patty was perfectly cooked—juicy and flavorful—accompanied by grilled veggies and a light, delicious aioli. Their beef is clearly of high quality, and the flavors were well-balanced.
The service was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring all needs were met. The waiters were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. I appreciated the pace of the meal; it allowed time to savor the food without feeling rushed.
Overall, Astor Grill stands out as a fantastic spot for lunch in Doha. The menu offers a wide range of modern grill classics, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every dish. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality, setting, and service make it well worth it. Perfect for a business lunch or a leisurely meal with friends....
