Firstly, this is very much a budget hotel. The rooms are good for the price, clean and perfectly acceptable. The shared bathroom was also clean, the hot water was sporadic and unpredictable. Neither good nor bad. ||||The wifi is good but can be a bit hit and miss, signal dropping off from time to time. There are TV's in the rooms but only seem to be three channels, better than nothing but not great. ||||Some of the receptionists are really unhelpful, some more friendly than others. One female receptionist was actually quite friendly but sadly she was not working as often as the really bad one. It's unusual to experience hotel receptionists that seem so willing to treat customers like they despise them. There are some factors that have been an issue with other customers such as the noise of traffic which is significant but I got used to it quite quickly so it didn't really bother me. If you are easily disturbed by noise it will be an issue for you.||||The main problem with the hotel is the staff on reception. I am a polite gentleman and treat people with respect, sadly this meant nothing here. It was as if some staff wanted me to have a horrible holiday. For example, I was asking about finding my way to a museum, the girl on reception clearly didn't want to help me so basically didn't. It would seem her priority was to stare at her mobile phone arther than do her job. In the end I asked a man in a local shop and whilst he was unable to help me he tried and was polite. It certainly wasn't his job to do so. ||||It was with a heavy heart I decided on a one star review as apart from the bad receptionists I was reasonably happy with the hotel. But a good reception is perhaps the most important area of service for me and the overall rating is way too high for such bad service. There is absolutely no way this place deserves any more than an overall rating of 2 out of 5. ||||This rating is harsh on the many good staff including some good reception staff who were professional and courteous. But the one bad receptionist and the other guy who didn't seem to care let the whole place down and I will never stay there again.||||Staying here had a major negative impact on my trip. Read moreI arrived in the middle of the night, and the reception told that they have no room for me or nether the cleaner to prepare in the case the hotel will have free room. I wrote the message about my late arriving ON 10 OF SEPTEMBER!! And the answer was: “Buna seara, Receptia este deschisa non stop si check-in incepe cu ora 14:00.” For non native speakers “Good evening, The reception is open 24 hours a day and check-in starts at 2:00 PM.” So now you gonna explain why I need to wait for any room in the middle of the night or ether reception need to prepare that for me? The first that I heard on reception was “we don’t have a room”, she even didn’t ask about booking, after my answer that I’ve made a booking WEEKS ago, I got “doesn’t meter, we gave it to someone else, because we don’t do check in at nights”, but I wrote about it and ask on 10th of September and also in the airport before arriving. Read moreMy flight was hours late and by the time I landed was 2 AM...to my surprise I received a phone call from a very helpful receptionist checking even at that time of night if everything it's OK and if I still want the room. Honestly I can't fault the guy( Cristian Sibesanu is his name), polite, professional helpful, an asset to that hotel). The hotel itself is literally 2 min walking from/to the Central Train Station ( Gara de Nord), ideally positioned for anyone that has train connections to make in time and for the price they are charging ( I had a single room, with a generously sized bed and private bathroom/shower for about 23£) it is worth it even if you only have available a few hours to shower and have a nap).
