I stayed here August 22 - August 26, 2025. I didn’t know what to expect; it was my first time in Romania! The room is bigger than some apartments in the USA. The bed was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was nice, too. They only have body wash in the shower, however, so you might want to bring some hair care products if that’s really important to you! • I tried the pub one evening and got the halloumi burger. I thought I was getting a hamburger with halloumi cheese, but it was only two patties of cheese. The meal itself was fine; this is part of the adventure while traveling! The staff were kind. • I don’t know if this is a good or bad neighborhood, but the hotel is near at least two bus lines, the M1 metro line (it’s one block outside the front entrance), is a few minutes’ walk to the Gara da Nord train station, and there is a little convenience store about a two-minute walk nearby. There’s a Starbucks by train station, too. I’ve also taken MANY Ubers here; they’ve averaged about $7 after a tip. Pretty much everything you’d want to see is within a 2 - 3 mile (I think that’s 2 - 5?) radius. • If you want to use public transit, it is my understand the buses and subways DO NOT USE THE SAME CARD. Metro tickets are for the subway, and you can get an STB card for the buses. The metro tickets are sold at the subway using a ticketing machine. The STB cards can be purchased near the shops at the train station, outside of the Starbucks and just a little bit to the northeast. The machine says “STB” on it. Conveniently, if your debit or credit card has a tap feature, you can use it on the bus! A one-way trip was $.70, and I’m pretty certain I was not charged when I got back on another bus. • The Ubers I’ve taken are fast and very cheap. It’s great because a surprising amount of landmarks and parks in the city do not have convenient transit access. My wait at the hotel for a car has never exceeded 30 seconds. It’s unreal. • Overall, I would most likely stay here again knowing what I do now. There are many outside amenities nearby, transit access to Old Town and the Palace of Parliament (Gara da Nord, by the hotel, to Izvor; you’ll need to walk about 10 minutes from Izvor to either location), the staff are friendly, and it was great value in my opinion. • For four nights I paid about $290. For all the convenience and comfort, I think it’s an extremely good price...
Read moreDecent accommodation in a renovated historical building near Gara de Nord - the main Bucharest Rail Station. The location is very convenient for those who need to travel to Otopeni airport as the best connection between city and airport is by train, in terms of both speed (20 minutes) and value for money (Euro 1.5/ride). A subway station is right next to the hotel. My room was large and cozy. Bathroom, well updated with everything working flawless. The restaurant, located at the ground level of the hotel, is a top rated steak house in Bucharest. Breakfast is included but it's quite restrictive. Clients need to decide in advance if they're vegan, so they receive a plate of baked veggies, fruits and jams (not even a piece of cheese!), or meat-eaters, so they receive a plate of cold cuts and bread (no veggies at all). Anyway, this hotel offers the best value for money in the area, so it's usually fully booked. Booking a room in advance is highly...
Read moreA great option in Bucharest. A bit far from the center of town, walkable but you need to want to do it lol. But a short Uber/Bolt. there isn't a ton of restaurants around, but the train station is two blocks away so if you're traveling around Romania via train, this is a great location
I'm not trying to discourage anyone from staying here, the rooms are big and modern even though it's an old building, and the value if fantastic. Just be aware most of the fun places to visit will...
