Exceptional value right on the edge of old town! You’ll be hard-pressed to find amenities & location anywhere near as good as Liad at this price point. Responsive & extremely helpful english speaking manager/ host, huge & spotlessly clean rooms with all new furnishings, with tasteful modern (almost Scandinavian) decor. Good sized elevator. Large & comfortable queen beds. Strong Wi-Fi. Powerful water pressure & quickly warming hot water (crucial in winter). Efficient radiant heat. Easy pin code access to come & go thru the front door. Desk & chair for comfortable work space. Killer view from the top floor (level 6). Close to all the sights of Old Town, & easy access to all modes of public transport (also only about 12-15 lei from the train station by Uber). Great coffee across the street & left at Coffee Station Coltea (see review- tasty flat white only 7 lei, good, strong espresso). Great cheap breakfast to the right & 2 blocks away at Papila (see review- tasty eggs, pancetta & toast for a few dollars). Several markets a couple blocks away (to the left, heading to old town), late night doner spot in the same direction/ area. This is a great place to stay in Bucharest, with a level of comfort far surpassing the price!

All in all I had a good stay. The accommodation is located in the center of the city so you can walk to the major sights and many shops and restaurants by foot. The room was okay I would say. On the plus side is the modern bathroom, the room had a fridge and a microwave and the bed was comfy. Wifi was working and fast, however there were no international channels available for the TV. The room was very quiet. What I really didn't like was that I had basically no window. There was a small window which had some covering foil on it. Basically to cover the not so good looking outside view where pigeons seemed to live (I think I don't need to explain further). I understand why they placed the transparent foil on the window, however this meant the room had little to no daylight. I'd rather have a bad view than sit in darkness or with lights on all day. Second point is that my heating wasn't working in both the bathroom and bedroom. There was aircon which I used to heat the room. This worked totally fine but it dries out the air and is annoying during the nights.

Apart from the pretty central location there is nothing else good about this hotel. Not the prison-style rooms that let little light in (see photo), not the broken curtains, not the kettle that won’t switch off causing scalded hand, not the shower with no shower curtain (see wet floor photo), not the short circuiting and buzzing light switches (have video but can’t upload on here) meaning it was a bit interesting getting up to bathroom at night, not the ultra soft middle bed, not the dirty bedding, not the 20LEI (£3.50GBP) per breakfast tea bag that we asked for (only 3 x camomile tea bags were left in the room) and certainly not the dirty floors which only showed up when we tried to dry the wet bathroom floor due to the lack of shower curtain. I would certainly avoid. The service was abysmal too. We got asked to leave the top floor breakfast room when we went exploring! No breakfast there then. There was a lot of banging throughout the night too. Not sure what that was. And at midnight we got woken up by someone trying our door!

Location is indeed near the city center and offers competitive prices, but in a street under construction and not that nice of a neighborhood. Staff and owners were helpful and offered guidance with taxis and flights.

Our room 505 was without a lock on the front door. Furniture such as closets and cabinets all old, creaky and looking like they were salvaged from other forclosed hotels and businesses.

The shower was one of those equipped with massage jets, radio, phone etc. None worked. Original showerhead was missing, side jets were scaly and rusty, the controls were broken. Instead they installed a separate small showerhead with its base attachement fixed and not adjustable, so you can't point it where you want or adjust for height difference between me and my wife. Hot water is not immidiate and take a minute to reach you. The base of the shower closet had cracks fixed with silicone caulking which became moldy. The sink is miniature and the faucet is so low you can barely fit in your hands under it. The toilet was placed such that when you sit, your right leg is stuck in the sink cabinet, that is just baffling.

The bed had a mattress so old, flimsy and thin that we felt individual springs against our backs. Pillow were old and rock hard, you couldn't bend them. TV monitor is 10 years old, not even 720p. Closet doors were so bent old and offset that they wont open all the way. Clothes hangers were just and assortment of different ones, not 2 were alike. The finishing in the room's walls and different parts was abysmal, bad painting and dry wall installation. There were some moldy and damp parts on the drywall.

Overall, looked like it was thrown together from salvaged parts and quick construction. Was not a pleasant experience to stay in.

Cherry on top, there was an AC unit only far in the living room, only heating radiator in the bed room, which didn't work, and it was cold.

Would not recommend. I wish i took pictures but it was a short...

During my first day at the hotel, the concierge mentioned that my checkout date coincided with her upcoming birthday. She playfully requested a gift and I obliged with a new microwave oven (seriously). However, my stay wasn't that great. The shower in my room had some maintenance issues. Moreover, the particle board frame of the bed cracked when I sat on its corner, revealing a need for furniture upgrades. Another issue was the hotel's room cleaning schedule, which was limited to once a week. Also, the absence of heating in the room was somewhat uncomfortable, especially during the recent colder weather. The breakfast option was available at a price of 60 lei, but I found it more cost-effective to order a meal from McDonald's via Glovo delivery. Fresh fruit was displayed on the counter but seemed off-limits. On one occasion, I was even told that the fruit was for their cocktails, and I shouldn’t take too many. Eventually, I decided to just watch the fruit as it slowly rotted on the counter. Another inconsistency was the 10% discount on takeaway coffee; it wasn't always honored. Furthermore, a bottle of Romanian wine priced at 35 lei in the local market costs 70 lei at the hotel bar. During my stay, I couldn't help but notice some staff members drinking alcoholic beverages from the bar at various times throughout the day. When the shower wasn't malfunctioning, its seals had a tendency to leak, making for occasional wet bathroom floors. Despite the issues I encountered, I empathized with one of the cleaning ladies and spontaneously gave her 400 lei as a gift. Similarly, I tipped the hotel driver 50 lei for his services and even offered to personally contribute to the repair of the bed, demonstrating my commitment to improving my stay. I left a very good review on Airbnb. Nevertheless, to my surprise, the hotel left a negative review for me on Airbnb, which I found to be unexpected and...
