breakfast is served in the basement with no daylight I booked a room called ‚City View‘ and in the pictures it seemed to have big windows, when I go there you had to really tilt your head to even see the sky and the window was only half-site. the sauna was off in the beginning. I asked the receptionist to turn it on, 30 min later: it‘s off. I ask again: 30 min later, it‘s only 45 degrees and doesn‘t seem to get any warmer, so I gave up for the day. Next day I asked again, 30 min later: 60 degree max. A sauna, just for future reference, should be around 80-90 degrees to actually have any sort of effect. the gym: it‘s tiny. it barely can be called a gym. There are 2 yoga mats, 2 bikes, 1 stepper and a gymnastic ball. One multi-purpose weight lifting machine that has no instructions so I couldn‘t really use it. I was pretty disappointed which is why I went to the reception on the first day to ask for a) the room I booked and b) the sauna to actually be turned on. I was told that I should come back the next day because there‘s no other rooms available that day, which is fair. The next day: To be fair, I got an upgrade but staff made me feel really uncomfortable for it. There were not understanding whatsoever and the manager seemed very annoyed with me. Paying 70€ per night is not that much, but I think I can still expect at least the bare minimum when it comes to hospitality, politeness and friendliness. I would not book here again simply because of the...
Read moreAs a family of 4 we stayed in this modern, pleasant, well situated hotel in the old town area of Bucharest for 9 nights. The hotel is smaller than the big names, and so has a more personal touch and more relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very pleasant, hard working and always ready to help you out in any way possible. The breakfast buffet (included) was great and the room plenty big enough for a family of 4. Locally, the hotel is within easy reach of all the bars and restaurants of the old town and surrounding area (you will be spoiled for choice!). The metro station is conveniently just a couple of minutes walk, as are the various bus stops. You can buy the metro tickets at the kiosk in the Universitate metro in 2 or 10 trip cards. I found the metro clean and reliable for the whole week that we used it and it gets you to most of the parks and malls. The 783 bus will get you from the airport to the hotel. However, the K+K staff can also arrange airport transfer in quality vehicles for just 20 euros. We did this both ways in Merc's. Locally, just outside the hotel is a pharmacy and a couple of convenience stores along with a couple of patisseries. Most evenings we were also entertained with live orchestras playing in the Parcul Coltea, just outside the metro, a minute or two from the hotel. I would highly recommend the K+K Bucharest and happily stay there again on business...
Read moreThis was my seventh stay in this hotel in the past four years. The measure of a good hotel and of an enjoyable travel experience isn't in the fluffy towels and immaculate linens, the comfy bed, the sizeable and clean room and nice amenities. Any hotel worth their salt provides these, and Peakture definitely does, as they do a 24/7 reception and noon check-out.|But for me, it's in the small things: the cheerful breakfast lady who brews just the right espresso for you and remembers your preferences without prompt. It's in the professional, polite and friendly staff who recognise you and greet you warmly on your return. It's in taking into account your room preferences. It's in the platter of delicious, freshly cut fruit waiting for me in my room when I arrived.|If you're a seasoned traveller who enjoys their comfort and appreciates good service, like me, then you know that boutique hotels can be little gems. And now you know that you should definitely give...
