The hotel itself is relatively nice for Bucharest and for the price I paid. I find the Moxy concept quite similar to the one Hub by Premier Inn has with reasonably sized rooms (for the area), of decent quality, right where you need it. The rooms were clean, the reception/bar staff was great, the check-in/check-out experience as well, Wi-Fi could be faster bearing in mind how cheap it is in Romania.
The downsides: you cannot turn off your AC (or at least I couldn't find a way after going through all the menus multiple times. Maybe setting it on heat at a low temperature so the thermostat doesn't go off would have been a good idea, but that didn't seem to work either) -the lights under the bed are a nice touch as they are quite useful if you need to go to the loo during the night, but I wish I had a way to turn them off so I don't wake up my wife every time I got out of bed. -you have reading/bedside lights, which are useful, but there is no way to turn off the main 2 lights from the bed, which is quite anoying. -the mattress is quite hard and has a texture that you can feel under the sheets
The biggest downside: you are right in Bucharest's old town, which means parking around is a pain and if you can find a spot it's 2.2 euro/hour and double after the first 2 hours.
My main problem is that the hotel has parking, but the way you get to park there is purely Romanian style. There was a security guy at the location on the 17th of July, around 8-9am, who was only giving a parking spot based on how well you were dressed and how expensive your car was. There was an empty space where I wanted to park my car for 2 hours before leaving so I don't have to pay 9 more euros and I wasn't allowed. A dude comes in a really nice pick-up truck, well dressed and of course he was allowed to park, despite the fact that he wasn't a guest and only wanted to grab a coffee at the ground floor bar. 45m before I left there were 3 empty spaces and I forced myself into one, right as the same security person was putting traffic cones to block them. After some bargaining I managed to leave my car there for 45 minutes.
You'll probably enjoy it if you'll pay less than 30-40 euro/night for a room and not drive to the hotel. Some more good points are: -the shower has good water pressure -the curtains are thick enough so they block most of the light If you can ignore the AC noise, you'll sleep decently well. -the...

From the moment I stepped through the doors of MOXY BUCHAREST OLD TOWN I knew I was in for a special stay. Over the course of nearly three months, this hotel became my second home, thanks to its exceptional staff and unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction.
Upon arrival, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. It set the tone for the entire duration of my stay. Special mention must be made to Madalina, who went above and beyond to ensure I secured a favorable deal for my extended visit. Her dedication and professionalism made all the difference.
Throughout my stay, the reception team, led by Andrea and Cilvio, provided exemplary service. They were always ready to assist with any queries or requests, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was seamless. Their friendly demeanor and attentiveness truly made me feel valued as a guest.
I also want to express my gratitude to the rest of the crew, whose names may not be as prominently displayed but whose contributions were just as vital. Whether it was arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, or simply offering a warm smile, their commitment to excellence did not go unnoticed.
In addition to the stellar service at the front desk, I was consistently impressed by the housekeeping team, particularly Corina. Her meticulous attention to detail ensured that my room was always a haven of comfort and cleanliness. Returning to a well-made bed and spotless surroundings was a daily delight, thanks to her efforts.
Overall, my experience at MOXY BUCHAREST OLD TOWN exceeded all expectations. Beyond the luxurious amenities and comfortable accommodations, it was the people who truly made my stay memorable. Their genuine care and dedication transformed a temporary residence into a place I will fondly remember. Thank you to the entire team for making me feel like a valued member of the...
Read morePlus: The hotel is located in the old city centre. Amazing location, if you want to be near everything in walking distance. It was super cool that while arriving early, we were given a room before the standard check-in time. The room was clean. The breakfast was a bit limited in choices, but overall adequate.
Minus: While we were upgraded at a room with a balcony, I must admit that the room was rather small. I would barely characterize this room as a superior one. Certain important amenities were missing, like for example a pair of slippers, especially as the room did not have laminated floor, but instead a carpet. The pillows were slightly uncomfortable, but not something serious. The most important deficiency, which is actually a deal breaker, is that the hotel could not offer us a service of keeping our luggages until we left for the airport. This is a serious deficiency that I had never met in decades of travelling, even at less stars hotels. The hotel had only some limited lockers that the staff informed me that were fully occupied.. Furthermore, he informed me that normally I could leave the luggage at a meeting room, but today this would not be possible. Being extremely surprised not believing the things that I was hearing, I kindly asked again where could I leave my luggage, as I had more than six free hours before leaving for the airport and I could not stroll around the citu with two big luggages. The staff's answer was outrageously cynical: "I explained you, we cannot provide you this service" and then he turned his face at another direction and left me with my mouth open. Literally this BASIC service is found even at the worst hotels or even Airbnbs. Not finding this simple and basic service in a Marriott branch hotel us SIMPLY...
