Decent food, but the exotic dishes are far from the real thing and way overpriced. The place is also tiny with no intimacy. This could create the feeling you are at home were it not for the easily offended staff that smiles a lot but is not ready to be smiled back at. Tip: if they joke with you is for tips, don’t confuse the crowded home vibe and the jokes with you with them being ok for you to joke back (always remember the “easily offended staff” part if you go there)

Later Edit, caused by the reply: by telling to my friends, not me: "I can't believe he sank so low" because I made a simple joke that was too complicated for your employee, a joke I made at least twice to you (here I assume the owner, Maria) and you laughed, well by this behaviour you prove how friendly the place really is. you also prove your level of professionalism. by hanging on to your position as I can see in your reply you prove again your level of professionalism - blame the client for your unacceptable behaviour. (the waitress not laughing has nothing to do with it - sometimes humour misses; your foul talking behind someone's back has to do a lot instead...) bottom line and the most important thing for anyone interested: the food is nice but way overpriced for the tiny quantity (I was pleased at the beginning when you had entry prices, not after you doubled them). The exotic dishes are far away from what they should be, but this is common among europeans trying to make money on the "exotic...

Most over hyped restaurant I've been to this year.

My sandwich was soggy and covered in grease. I felt as if i wasn't chewing on cheese but a rubber sole. The bacon was cold and rubbery, too, and everything was covered in grease to the point that my sandwich tasted oily. The omlette was tasteless and brought nothing to the sandwich. The food was lukewarm at best and cold at worst. The peanut butter and milk drink i ordered was executed poorly, even if, in theory, it sounds interesting. The saving grace of this meal was the desert, which is simply mediocre.

The staff was friendly, which is why I gave 4 stars for service, however, I have noticed they have a tendency to be rude over the phone or online, which doesn't give them a good look as a restaurant and which I hope they will change.

On the other side, a good thing about this restaurant is definitely the atmosphere. The music isn't loud and the restaurant is quiet, which is perfect for socializing with friends or family. Moreover, they offer quite a few drinks, making it more suitable as a hang out spot instead of somewhere you go when you're hungry. However, the reason I gave the atmosphere 3 stars is because everything about the place's design, aesthetic and "vibe" seemed messy and had no cohesive thematic.

In the end I think that the worst part about this restaurant is definitely the price point of the meals. A starter and a main course is 70 lei and the deserts are between 30-40 lei for...

  7. I wait it 20 mins. Really u give just 1 hour but I need to wait 20 mins to bring it to me ?
  8. I order spiced. They bring me like they said “ A blend of authentic japanese spices, made in House” but that is not true. This spices u can bay in the shop.
  9. eggs was very slowly marinated maybe just in soy sauce and may be was mix like 1:5 with water. I really don’t understand u think ur ramen is really good? The broth was weak. The most the cheapest chopsticks 🥢 U have vegetable ramen but u don’t have with chicken. Really vegetables ramen?? And really I don’t understand why 3 weeks on your photons the pork ramen is another then today? I was in many countries and I tried a lot of ramens but in ur house the ramen is very slow. The music is very loud. The staff is lovely. The lemonade is testy. And we order 2 hot romens they give us just 1 but in the bill was included 2...

I was in Bucharest for work and wanted an interesting culinary experience, so I came across Papila. At first, I was drawn by their ramen photos on Google (worth mentioning that ramen is served only on Sundays). I went on a Tuesday without a booking (not sure if usually needed mid-week so please check), and the staff were very kind and attentive. They even set up a lovely table for me outside, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The menu is clear and structured around three different sets. You always need to pair a first and a second dish together. What I think is not okay is that on Google it still shows you can order two firsts, which is unfortunately not the case anymore. This should be clarified, as it could be misleading. For food, I had the chicken liver parfait, which was excellent, followed by the lamb, which was beautifully prepared. For dessert, I went with the mango rice in coconut spinach sauce with black seeds and pralines – truly delicious. I started with a glass of cava and then a Spanish red (Rioja), both perfectly chosen. What I loved most is that Papila feels like it has a strong soul – you can sense the effort, care, and ambition behind it, and that they hold on to their standards. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’d gladly come back.

Overall it is a very foody experience. The place is quite small but one of the cool things it has is exterior heaters and we were able to enjoy the food and a good chat in the gloomy weather with the warm light above. The fruit tea and masalla chai were good. I recommend the combo platter as it lets you explore the food a bit better and the quantities are ok for what you need. The Thai soup was ok but the creme soup with cashews really did impress me as it was a perfect palance of flavour and textures. The gulash sandwich was really tasty and definitely felt like a deconstructed goulash, it was missing a bit of tomato flavour in it for the full goulash hit but it was a really foody treat. The mash with beef was also good as the beef was tender and the mash had a sort of taboule sauce which I quite enjoyed. Fo the dessert the lemon cheesecake had a perfect lemon sauce and also good layered textures. All in all it is the type of place where people that love food can enjoy something new.
