So, this was our first time at a staffless hotel. |Generally, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated how thoughtfully everything is arranged. |There still is room for improvement.||PROs:|1) Staffless. |This can be a PRO as much as a CON. It really feels nice when you feel like the place is your home, you come and go without being looked at by anyone, without unnecessary small talk, etc. Really suitable for introverts :)|2) Attention to details. |The place is really thought through. You have your own iron, ironing board, tv (with Netflix), kettle, coffee-maker, tea, coffee capsules, sugar, coffee cups, mugs, wine glasses, water glasses, a couple of welcome snacks, a make-up table, toiletries (though I'll talk about these in the con section), cotton pads and buds, extra tp, a blow-dryer, towels, etc. All the essentials are there (except for bathrobes). |3) Clean|The place really feels and is clean. I am usually very cautious about using hotel towels, about sleeping on hotel pillows, etc. This place didn't feel icky even a bit. They care about cleanliness and it shows. |4) Location. |No joke, I can't imagine a better location in Bucharest, especially if the goal of your stay is to just relax, walk, bar-hop in Old Town.|We had a room with a balcony and you are literally looking at Manuc's Inn from your balcony. It is quiet, though, surprisingly. |5) Beautiful. |The place really is so so pretty. They kept the room theme, and even your airconditioner is a picture frame that matches the whole theme, and the ironing board too. Again, nicely thought-through. ||CONs:|1) Stafless. |Yes, this can be a CON as well. Our code wasn't active when we arrived (although we agreed in advance that we arrive earlier and would need to store our baggage before we check-in). |We had to call HOLT standing next to the closed doors (it was chilly outside, so we were cold and standing with our luggage trying to call someone to let us in was not the most desired way to begin our stay). |The guy we got on the line quickly got us a new code and we got in with no problem after, but it just wasn't a great start. |2) Toiletries.|The handsoap was full, but the toiletries in the shower (shampoo, bodywash and conditioner) were almost empty. We had our own, so didn't have to bother anyone. I am sure they would have replenished the liquids if we contacted them, we just didn't need to.|However, would be nice if this was taken care of before people check-in, without having to request it during their stay. |3) The iron. |It was glitchy and leaking. Again, we weren't attentive enough when reading about the facilities, so we didn't even expect the iron to be there and took our own, so didn't have to contact HOLT.|However, there is a chance you are getting a glitchy iron.|4) The contract. |You need to sign an electronic contract before you check-in, and that is okay. I just was very cautious about this one point in the contract (I think it was nr 23) that you agree that anybody from HOLT staff can enter the room at any time with or without you being there. |This leads me to the next con.|5) No safe. |There was no safe in the room, so we didn't leave our valuables in the room. |6) Luggage storage|If you arrive before your check-in time, they offer you to store your luggage using just something reminding a bycicle rack. I would suggest swtiching to actual lockers, it would feel safer.|Yes, nobody can take my bags as they are locked together by the handles, but I don't see why they can't open my bag and take something from it. The camera doesn't seem to be pointed exactly at the baggage either.|||All in all, I really do recommend you to stay here if you are looking for a place in Bucharest, you will not be...
Read moreMy stay at the HOLT hotel offered standout features that I appreciated. The hotel’s cleanliness was impressive. Both the room and bathroom were immaculate, which made my stay much more comfortable. The room’s decor was a beautiful mix of Art Nouveau and modernism. The bed was incredibly relaxing, something I value as someone who travels a lot. The amenities, like the stocked fridge with beers and snacks as a courtesy, the cafe machine, and the stable Wi-Fi, were great touches that enhanced my experience. The hotel's location in the old town was also perfect for exploring nearby historical sites. Also, there was plenty of hot water in the shower.
Comfortable, clean, cozy.
There were a few things, though, that could be better. Adding a canopy at the entrance would be helpful, especially during rain. It’s tough managing luggage and not getting wet. Better lighting for the night keypad would make late arrivals less hassle. A more visible sign at the entrance would also make the hotel easier to find. The check-in process could be more efficient. A lot of the information asked for is already available with the third-party booking service.
Overall, my stay at the HOLT Hotel was quite good. The hotel does a great job in terms of comfort, style, and thoughtful amenities. I’d rate it at about 4.5 stars. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and will be a return customer. If you can book through them directly instead of a third party. Note: the hotel is a contactless check-in.
Unrelated to the hotel, if you are a male walking through the old town at night, you will be incessantly harassed by men trying to get you into their gentlemen's clubs. They are like a plague following you for blocks,...

So here is a little story…
My partner and I have decided to go on a very spontaneous, mini holiday in Bucharest.
We had very little time to decide on accommodation, considering it’s such a busy time of year. So, I’ve made a booking to a standard hotel.
Quickly after booking I’ve realized I made a mistake and in fact we preferred to stay in the old town.
Luckily, I was able to find a cute place called “Holt Old Town”.
The rooms looked fantastic with an amazing, modern design and the location was exactly what we were looking for. I had to check a couple of times to see if the price was real. It was that good.
To make a long story short, I’ve booked with them and cancelled the original booking.
My partner’s preference is hotels and so when he heard this place has no lobby/staff on arrival, he was skeptic.
Let me tell you something, this place don’t have staff on site, however, they are so helpful and so quick to respond over email that we felt so secure in any chance we needed help with anything.
My message is simple, the room is WOW but, the service is even better.
Do yourself a favor, if you’re in Bucharest, book one of their rooms. You won’t get disappointed.
Thanks Petru, Mary, Bianca and everyone who helped to make our stay extra special.
Well done on creating such a nice experience for us.
See you again in the...
