Beware: You May Not Get the Room You Booked!||We booked this hotel months in advance for a twin room, which is hard to find at a reasonable price in Bucharest. The room type and location were the only reasons we chose this hotel.||When we arrived, we were told, “Your friends are already here.” There were no “friends”—it was just myself and my travel companion, who was standing next to me. Confused, we were left sitting in reception for 1 hour and 20 minutes while the receptionist made endless phone calls. I kept asking, “Do we have a room?” and got no clear answer.||By now it was 1 a.m. Two women, alone in a foreign city, had nowhere to stay and had already walked past people who were clearly intoxicated or under the influence. We were scared, exhausted, and completely let down.||Eventually, we found out what had happened: a group earlier in the day had booked four twin rooms, but the hotel had overbooked. They gave that group an extra room, which turned out to be ours.||Thankfully, two ladies from that group returned while we were still waiting and offered to share a room so we could take one of theirs. The guests—not the hotel—solved the problem.||When we finally got to our room, things didn’t improve:| • The balcony door didn’t seal, so we heard every bit of street noise, including a man playing piano (and loudly partying) until 4 a.m.| • No soundproofing—we could even hear neighbors flipping light switches.| • Bathroom tap was loose and nearly unusable.| • Shower fluctuated between burning hot and freezing cold.| • No tea or coffee facilities, or note pad and pen, or robes like in photos.| • Only one small bottle of water free—despite two people staying.||We raised the issue daily: we had paid for a more expensive room but were clearly given a lower-tier one. The hotel offered a free breakfast (we declined), then a free mini bar (also declined). We just wanted the price to reflect the room we received.||The manager was never available, and after four days, they reluctantly deducted €20—a small gesture for the stress, inconvenience, and poor experience. Which I said isn’t an adequate amount. ||We were absolutely exhausted after our first night, and the lack of soundproofing made it hard to rest throughout the stay.||If you’re booking a twin room, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Based on our experience and what others have said in past reviews, there’s no guarantee you’ll get what...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Our stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare, leaving us sleepless for five consecutive nights. Allow me to outline the numerous issues we encountered:
The overpowering stench of sewage permeated our room, reaching such an unbearable level that we had to complain and request assistance. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the problem remained unresolved, and we were left with no option to switch rooms. The non-functional air conditioning forced us to keep the door open in a desperate attempt to cool down the room. This, however, proved futile as the noise from the surroundings made it impossible to get any restful sleep. The door lock was completely dysfunctional, compromising our safety and peace of mind throughout our stay. Hot water was a luxury that eluded us for over 16 agonizing hours. The receptionist repeatedly assured us that the issue had been rectified, only to discover their words were nothing more than empty promises. Their lack of accountability and failure to assist us further exacerbated the situation. Dilapidated furniture plagued our room, leaving us with limited storage space for our belongings. The state of disrepair was simply unacceptable. To our astonishment, we learned that other guests were also facing issues with the hotel's cleaning staff, as some reported missing or discarded personal items. This lack of professionalism and integrity is deeply concerning. The beds in the hotel were incredibly small, barely accommodating two people comfortably. It felt almost cruel to expect guests to endure such cramped sleeping arrangements. The sole silver lining in this ordeal was the pleasant demeanor of the lady working in the breakfast area. She was the only staff member who displayed genuine courtesy and professionalism. Given the multitude of problems we encountered and the hotel's evident disregard for its guests' well-being once payment was made, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment under any...
Read moreThe hotel is decent. Not suitable for people who have problems with stairs, as there are 20+ steps right at the entrance and more steps to reach the elevator. We were not offered help with out suitcases either. When entering the room we noticed the AC was not working properly and that the sink was faulty. Also, the room was TINY and did not match the photos online (you could sit on the toilet and wash your hands in the sink at the same time). We asked to move to another room and luckily we did. The next room was a bit bigger and the AC was working but unfortunately there were still some loose things in the bathroom and it was also a bit dirty. One morning we paid 90 lei for breakfast and we got to it 45 mins prior to closing time, unfortunately we met a very unfriendly staff lady who shouted at us that the food is finished and "we can try to find something". This was a disgusting. We left the breakfast restaurant immediately and asked for a refund for the money we paid minutes before. The location is very good right at the old city. Do not spend your good money on the breakfast there, you can find great breakfasts 1 min walk from there in...
