True Club — Restaurant in Bucharest

As so many reviews here state the same, this place is a scam hole. Not only for tourists, we were locals, and it was the 2nd time they did it. The order came with extra drinks and a different price for a bottle, almost double: The manager is always prepared to talk for an hour and explain how you forgot what you ordered and they are not doing such things for “x” amount, yet this is what they do every time. They offer to look at the cameras, they never do, and just mumble until you just give up and leave just to get out of that messy situation.

The live music expected at a certain hour was delayed on purpose for 2 hours, just to keep people in the place more and buy more. It really makes every night out here a nightmare, DO NOT RECOMMEND! Everybody is on board with this scam, from the manager down, who really makes this place a mess, gaslighting customers with a stright face and apologising for minutes in a row, with no real solution in the end, they charge you, you leave scanmed and they laugh stupidly at the end of the night and split the cash.

The service was friendly, and the atmosphere of the place was pleasant. The problem started when they brought an extra cider to our table. Since the waitress had already opened the bottle, we told her it was fine and not to worry (as she realized her mistake and apologized for bringing and opening an extra one).

After finishing, we went to pay and left, but when we noticed the unusually high bill, we saw that, in addition to charging us for what we ordered, they had added the maximum 15% tip themselves without asking—taking advantage of the fact that we were foreigners and wouldn’t notice. Because of this, we now believe that the extra cider was just another trick to scam us.

In summary: IF YOU ARE TOURISTS, BE CAREFUL! THEY ADD WHATEVER TIP THEY WANT WITHOUT ASKING, AND MAKE SURE YOU DON’T ALLOW THEM TO BRING SOMETHING YOU DIDN’T ORDER. DON’T ACCEPT IT JUST OUT OF COURTESY LIKE WE DID.

To conclude, I’d like to add that the service was friendly, and with integrity, both my companions and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave a generous tip if it was deserved. But fooling us is a different story. I’m sure we won’t be the last ones to be tricked this way, but I hope this review helps others realize and avoid this kind of situations.

Purchased a ticket for the NYE 2025, overall it was very a disapointing experience. The base price of 300 RON included the food and entrance, however the drinks could be purchased separately per bottle only (200 RON), and 300RON if a few mixers/soft drinks were added. Extremely overpriced and poorly served, there was no ice, no bottle opener, no glasses on the table and the drinks were warm. For 500 RON, other pubs offer all inclusive and yoi can get a proper gin&tonic prepared by the bartender. So no value for the price. But the worse thing was the music, literally the worse DJ ever!!! Stupid old tunes, no proper mixing or "room reading", cretinoid music all the way. Never mind he was told by many people to change the bloody music, he didn't care, he had fun and that's it. I told the staff too and no improvement. I can't comment on food, because I left the place after 30 minutes and found a proper place, with proper service. The majority of the group I was with remained in True Club and it didn't get any better, the unanimous opinion was that the party was a failure. That DJ managed all that and I hope he gets this feedback. Will never return...
