Pensiunea Helvetia — Hotel in Bucharest

Picked this hotel because of the location. It's in a somewhat elite neighborhood close to the massive Herăstrău park and Bucharest' own Arcul de Triumf. I like that it's very quiet at nights and early mornings. You only need to walk about 8 minutes to reach the closest metro station; it's 5 Lei for a round trip to the old town/city center. From the airport it cost me about 17-20 Lei to reach this place. The bed is comfy and they have a small elevator too. Staff are friendly and helpful. From the outside, the building looks just like a house but I like the homey feeling of this hotel. Unfortunately during my stay the Internet is often down, otherwise I would have given this place 5 stars. Around this hotel there's mostly expensive restaurants (for Bucharest standards) and not that many bars. All in all I had a convenient stay. Would recommend it for solo/business travelers who want peace and quiet away from the busier/more touristy parts...

I stayed at the Pensiunea Helvetia from July 16th - July 21st 2014 . The management and staff were more than welcoming . My room was spotless and they catered for my every whim . I will be visiting Bucharest many times and I was so impressed with this hotel that I will ALWAYS book here in the future !! Single rooms cost 58 Euros per night (pre booked 46 Euros) , Double rooms cost 68 Euros per night (pre booked 60 Euros) . Breakfast is served 7am - 10am daily and there is a HUGE selection available . All rooms include TV , shower and bath as well as free WIFI . I highly recommend that if staying in Bucharest , you should book at the Penisiuena Helvetia . I have now stayed here twice and consistently found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. The rooms have a mini fridge and have all the usual amenities. The breakfast is absolutely delightful and concludes with yogurt and cake to take with you. While it’s a little far from Old Town, it really is a great location (Herestrau Park is beautiful) and a 2 minute walk away from a metro stop which will take you wherever...
