Herastrau Park in Bucharest is an absolute gem that exceeded my expectations in every way possible. This sprawling urban park is a tranquil oasis nestled right in the heart of the city, offering a much-needed escape from the bustling streets. One of the first things that struck me about Herastau Park was its sheer size. With its vast green spaces, serene lakes, and picturesque walking paths, the park feels like a world of its own. It's the perfect place to unwind, go for a leisurely stroll, or simply sit back and enjoy the beauty of nature. The park offers a wide range of activities to suit all interests. From renting a paddleboat and exploring the tranquil lake to cycling along the scenic trails, there is something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed taking a relaxing boat ride on the lake, soaking in the peaceful ambiance and admiring the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. For those seeking a moment of serenity, there are numerous spots to sit and relax, including cozy benches under shady trees and charming picnic areas where you can enjoy a delightful outdoor meal. The park is well-maintained, and the cleanliness is commendable. Herastrau Park is not just about natural beauty; it also offers a variety of amenities to enhance visitors' experiences. There are several restaurants and cafes dotted throughout the park, providing a perfect opportunity to grab a refreshing beverage or indulge in a delicious meal. Additionally, the park hosts cultural events and festivals, adding a vibrant touch to the overall atmosphere. I would highly recommend Herastau Park to locals and tourists alike. It is a true haven for nature lovers, families, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a peaceful escape in the heart of Bucharest. With its impeccable maintenance, scenic views, and diverse range of activities, Herastau Park deserves every bit of its reputation as one of the city's most beloved attractions.

At first I thought it was suitable to call this a garden, however given the size ... It's huge, can easily spend hours here strolling, sitting and relaxing. With a huge pond in the middle and ample seating around it, gives you many opportunities to just sit relax and take in the ambience, especially when you consider it's in the busy city of Bucharest. There is a lot to take in, and even a kids play park. With a bike rental at the the entrance it's perfect to cycle and just enjoy. It looks like there used to be options to hire boats on the pond, and quite a few empty buildings that have fallen in to disrepair. Coupled with some overgrown and required landscape maintenance, had to knock a star off. Perhaps due to covid these places had to close and unable to resume, not sure. Only that they should be fixed up to finish the appeal. There are plenty of small pop up shops so can easily grab something to drink, eat or even items to play with kids. All in all very nice area to relax and close to the arch de triumph and other restaurants.

I first "discovered" this park when we went to an intensive training in the open air. I enjoyed every second of it and I realized how awesome is this place, not only as a mere park but also as a public green space where you can do a lot. A fantastic place that is very green and healthy in the capital.. I would go there for everything.. for a walk or for fresh air.. it is the best place where I can practice inline skating on grass as a beginner or on the normal road latter. There is always sth to see there as many activities take place there.. Beside all the nice healthy things that you can enjoy inside the park itself, you should never miss the chance to see the sceneries around the park where the lake along with the trees around it are captivating. At my first visit, I spent there seven hours in a row without wanting to leave.. I was very tired at the end, yes, but the scenes that surround the park made my day and I was full of life again. Strongly recommended. And please, enjoy every single moment in this green place :)))))

In Herăstrău's embrace, at break of day, Where morning light in softest hues does play, A tranquil island haven, nature's art, Where joy and serenity gently impart. Beneath the golden sky, a peaceful stroll, As life's rich tapestry begins to unroll, With runners' rhythms and lovers' tender grace, Each step, a heartbeat in this sacred place. Fishing lines cast, a father and son, Sharing a moment beneath the rising sun, Sailing boats glide, like dreams unfurled, In Herăstrău's embrace, a cherished world. Nature and city, a harmonious blend, Where city's pulse and lake's calm transcend, Dogs in playful dance, their spirits soar, In this island haven, we all adore. The canvas painted with morning's embrace, Herăstrău's beauty, a timeless grace, A symphony of moments, precious and bright, In this haven of dawn's pure light.
