The hotel and room itself was ok. The room had everything needed for a basic stay. However, the bathroom was very small. I didnât mind the size, although it meant the shower door got caught on the toilet when opening and closing. The towels were also hanging on the rail when we arrived, the towel rail is right next to the toilet meaning the towels touch the toilet - not very hygienic. Shower itself was ok, good pressure and warm, but did leak out into the bathroom making the floor very wet.
When I initially booked, I accidentally input one digit wrong on my card details. This meant that while the booking went through, I noticed that the payment would not. I noticed this straight away so tried to contact the hotel immediately to tell them and ask if they could change the details or cancel the booking for me to rebook. I had a reply saying the email address is not valid. I tried another email address and had no reply. I tried contacting them via WhatsApp and no reply. I couldnât contact them at all. A few weeks later, they cancelled my booking. I hesitantly rebooked. I added in the comments that both guests have dietary requirements so asked if these could be accommodated for breakfast. I also asked if the hotel could contact me so I had some contact details as explained that I hadnât been able to contact them. They did not contact me. Upon checking in, they clearly had not read the comments. I again advised of the dietary requirements and asked if these could be accommodated. The receptionist asked the chef and both were dismissive and did not seem to care. At breakfast, I asked again about dietary requirements and again the chef dismissed this and didnât seem to care. The second day at breakfast, there was no cutlery, and the server/waiter seemed frustrated at me asking for cutlery.
The room was fine, but I wouldnât recommend or book again because the communication was poor, you cannot contact the hotel and they were unhelpful and didnât care when asking questions and asking to be accommodated regarding dietary...
Read moreWe booked this hotel based on reviews and relative popularity in Bucharest. Many wrote that the hotel is better in real life than in the photographs. For us it was the other way around. There was an unpleasant smell in the hotel lobby. The reception gave the feeling that this was not a hotel, but a hostel (although among hostels there are many excellent options, and this hotel would not be one of them). We booked a room with a double bed at Booking and they gave us a room with two single beds. We went down to the reception to ask for another room, they changed it for us. But when we got to the new room, as soon as we opened the door, a large cockroach ran across the floor! This is a fundamental point for us, so we decided not to check into this hotel and booked another hotel in Bucharest on the spot. Which turned out to be the same in cost, but incomparably better in quality. We planned to stay at the Central Hotel for 2 nights, but even the first acquaintance with the hotel was enough for us to form a negative impression of it and run away from it half an hour after checking in. We paid 160 euros for 2 nights, and if the hotel is not able to get rid of cockroaches, then at least the price should be 2 times less. We do not recommend the hotel. Booked at the beginning of...
Read moreWhen you enter you are greeted by a smell of toilets. Reminds me of Bali hotels. Check in was easy. I did try to contact them directly for booking as it kept giving me an option for two rooms only but we only needed one ( small child with us ) it was impossible. The room was great. Good size. Living area and bedroom seperate. Bathroom also but but the water from the shower does go all over the floor. No water on arrival, asked and it soon came. I do prefer a kettle in the room over a coffee machine but again, asked and they provided one. Breakfast.... There is a lot to pick from but also I don't like they lay out. It's on top of everything and small space next to a table. The staff were good and helped with anything needed. I don't understand all that waste. Surely it's better to just as guests how they like their eggs and do a plate each. location was above a mcdonalds. Little shops down the side if needed. It didn't feel long to walk anywhere. We went for the Christmas markets and only took 10 mins to walk with small children. This is the parliament palace ones. But the west side markets took a while by uber âŹ7. There is a little noise coming in but not anything worth worrying about. Fourth floor. On the corner we...
