The hotel looks beautiful in photos, but in reality it's a horror show.
Everything is dirty and falling apart: The room is full of dust. the sheets have stains of blood on them. (picture attached) The bath tub coating is coming off. The sauna and pool was never cleaned. Instead of cleaning the pool, they spill a ridiculous amount of chlorine to the water. It's so much chlorine that your eyes burn from it even if you sit by the pool. The room has bugs in it. (picture attached)
The general feeling is that they want to minimize every money spending that they can, without considering how it affects the guests: The mattress is very cheap and uncomfortable. You don't have a spot to charge your phone. You need to request an extention cord from the reception. Some of the rooms have portable air condition, while others have a fan. The fun things about it is that you don't know if you will get the portable AC or the fan until you enter you room! It gets very hot in summer, and it's unbearable without an air condition. The portable air condition is very loud. In the evening (after around 18:00), there's only 1 employee that can help you and they are not allowed to leave the reception. It was so absurd that I had to replace the bed sheets myself when I got the room. (The sheets that were in place when I got the room had blood stains on them) The lights in the halls have a distance of 10 meters between them, and they are calibrated to turn on only if you are right below a light. You are actually walking in the dark and you need to turn on the flash on your phone while you walk the hallway to your room. (picture attached) The tea in the breakfast is the cheapest kind that they could find that offer a variety of multiple tastes in the same box. They have a nespresso machine in the breakfast, and there were no capsules when we got to the breakfast. We asked them for capsules, and they brought the more expensive capsules by mistake. It took them 1 minute to figure it out and swap it to the cheaper ones. They tried to take advantage of the ARTMania festival, and they quadrupled (x4!) the rooms' prices for those who wanted to order a room spontaneously. (Lucky us, we ordered the rooms beforehand)
One light spot is that the breakfast is decent for a 4 start hotel.
The overall feeling from the hotel is bad. Don't spend your money here.
Disclosure: after the dirty sheets saga, we requested to cancel our rooms and get a refund. They accepted. We tried to find another hotel, but all the other hotels were full and we weren't able to find a different hotel,...
Read moreWell at about 8 pm at my first day there, when I came back into my room, I found out the air conditioner was lacking an extract air tube and thus was blowing all the hot air back in the room again. I told the receptionist about the problem and he gave me another room. in that room, there was a tube, but it was ending just inside the room, so practically again the same problem. I told him again, he sent a technician to my room and meanwhile checked all other free rooms (they all had the same problem), and the technician told me in a very unfriendly way, he doesn't see my problem, I could just put the tube behind the furniture and than just left the room before I could even answer. The receptionist then apologised for him and told me, tomorrow I could meet with a hotel manager so we could find a solution. If they couldn't solve the issue, they would give me a refund (actually no use, my customer paid, but better than nothing) or give me a voucher for the restaurant/bar. Meanwhile it was late at night and all restaurants were closed, so I had to have dinner at a kebab place that was not nice. Next day, a new receptionist told me, the manager would meet me at 11. So I came to the reception at 11 and he told me, the manager would be a little late, and would come to my room in 20 minutes. More than an hour later I came back to the reception, asking how long I would still have to wait, only to hear from a woman sitting next to the counter (don't know if she was the manager), that she is very sorry, but it is like this in every room and I should just open the window and put the end of the tube outside. And thats it. So I spend hours of waiting only to hear this. By the way, to put the tube outside, the window needs to be completly open, so the AC couldn't have much effect.
One star is for the night receptionist who really put as much effort as possible in finding a solution and obviously had a better technical understanding than the technician. Also the Hotel at all looked quite beautiful with all the old furniture and all that.
PS: I almost forgot, in the second room the holder of the shower head was broken, so I had to hold it in my hand while showering. So changing the room initially was actually even...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel in February for Valentine's Day and did not regret our choice for a minute. The hotel is very comfortable and really cares about its customers.|I'm surprised that this site gave the hotel such a low rating. I would give it 10/10 for everything.||We checked into the hotel very quickly. Our room was on the second floor. We rode the elevator a couple of meters once and later we only used wonderful stairs with portrets on the wall.|The room had 2 toilets. The cleanliness is perfect. Silence. We were especially pleased with all the hotel amenities in the room, from shampoos to bed linen, bathrobes and slippers, which were of high quality. No cheap synthetics. I like it when you pay money and you can see what you paid for.|The interior is very beautiful and unusual. The hotel is cozy. Lots of places to relax and take beautiful photos.|Breakfast in the restaurant had a lot of choice and all the food was very tasty.|In the evening we visited the spa complex with a swimming pool and sauna, which was also included in the room payment. The water in the pool was warm and clean, just like a bath.||I saw that some people wrote that the hotel’s interior Baroque style is outdated. I completely disagree. This hotel definitely has its own zest and charm and it brightly complements the impressions of the city itself with its unique centuries-old history. It's sad when hotels in different countries are similar to each other, differing only in the color of the vases or walls. Over time, they are simply erased from memory. In this case, I have vivid memories of the city of Sibiu thanks to this hotel.|| The hotel is located in an old beautiful building on the central pedestrian street. It was very convenient to explore the city, making circles along the ancient streets, past small taverns and shops and then, tired, returning to the oasis of comfort and coziness right in the center of the tourist area.||I especially want to note the high-quality work of the staff. All the employees with whom we had the opportunity to communicate were very friendly and helped us sincerely. We were received as their guests.||I recommend this hotel for...
