Hotel Bastion — Hotel in Sinaia

The location is really perfect. Very close to the Peles Castle. We managed to walk up there when it was just opened to avoid crowds. There is free parking at the hotel which is very convenient. Watch out ! There are bears around. My parents took a walk to peles after dinner and they saw two bears on the way back - close to the gabbage bins. They were looking for food. They got panic. Fortunately there were some other people walking with them and they managed to follow two monks to walk an alternative way back. When we told the hotel staff, they sounds quite used to it and saying that there were bears everyday. I think we should have been informed about this in the beginning - as foreigners we are just not...

The location is great, near the Peles castle and in a quiet location yet close to Sinaia city center. The hotel is very outdated and the service is non existant. Reception is not manned continuously and they never answered the phone. Bathrooms have a very funky smell and no ventilation. There was no hot water for 4 days and no one we could complain to. No lift. Room size resonable. Restaurant and yard is pretty nice, breakfast also rich and welcoming. In Romanian standarts it could be 2 stars hotel and western standarts not more...

The hotel is a very good choice if you want to be close to the Peles Castle. It is a 5 minutes to the Peles visiting complex. At Bastion you can find very good ammenities. The rooms are clean. The zone is very quiet and you straight in the middle if the nature. The hotel has also a restaurant and parking places. However, if you want to be closer to Sinaia holiday Bastion is a bit more far. So you will need either a ride, or be prepared for longer but...
