It is the noisiest hotel I've ever been too!!||First of all, the hotel consists of two floors (the third and fourth of the building). The first floor is the one with the reception and the dining room, and also few rooms.||My room was across the reception while my dads' was in the dining room. ||Obviously it is extremely difficult to sleep while there are conversations held at the reception, in addition to when they start to prepare for the breakfast. ||To add sorrow, the walls are so thin that the minute someone walks in the room that's above you (on the fourth floor), all the room shakes, and you can feel it everywhere, even in the bathroom.||We have stayed at the hotel for a week, and I can tell that I almost haven't slept throughout this time because of the unstoppable noise.||||The location of the hotel tho is very good. It's close to the Isaac cathedral, there's a bus station just nearby and the metro station is ten minutes walk. ||||The breakfast is very simple, and there's no service- you even need to put your own dishes aside yourself, which I was very shocked with and even when something finishes like bread, you need to go to the reception to ask for more. The place is very small and because of it, sometimes you come and there's no place for you to sit.||||All of the staff are very friendly and willing to help you to make your plans...
Read moreWe booked the Adagio months before arriving as we expected St Petersburg to be very busy and hotels occupied with the World Cup going on. Our reserved rate was over $230/night. The hotel is on a lovely street just 200 ft from the Astoria hotel and St Isaac Square. The hotel entrance was nice but the walk into the building and up the stairs is a bit scary in that they are not completely rennovated.|The desk agent was pleasant and spoke sufficient english for us to get checked in and ask some questions. The room and ammenities were simple and functional. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. We stayed two nights, checking out early because we realised we were spending about 2x the going rate for comparable lodging. The Adagio accomodated our request to leave early.|The stay was nice, the location terrific and the staff friendly and helpful. Just the value...
Read moreThe entrance to the hotel was a little difficult to find at 11pm. The hotel sign is above a restaurant and the entrance bell is hidden behind a large pot plant about 15m to the right of the sign. On entering you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to the hotel. We stayed in the room next to the manned reception desk. The room was adequate for our needs. A large, but low bed, tea/coffee and free wifi and a safe in the wardrobe. The TV does not show English language programmes, not really a problem for us. Buffet breakfast is served in a small room with 4 tables, not great for 16 rooms. Choice was good but exactly the same every day. The best things about this hotel was the location and the price. Turn left for St Isaac's Cathedral, Astoria Hotel (great cocktails) and the City Tour busses. Turn Right for Nevsky Prospekt...
