Finally made it to the place where celebrities feed their faces. Sitting on the same pier that seated the likes of Carlos the Jackal, Mobuto Sese Seko, Bono, Johansson, Chriac, and many others, I enjoyed the relaxed temperate breeze and ocean views, dining in style with an aire of local history. Menu selection was diverse and not complicated. The menu has pretty photos, however not all are representative of the meal. First few items we ordered (lamb shoulder, various oyster dishes) were not available. A bit discouraging at first. We ordered the mixed seafood grill, red snapper with bissap, pesto tagliatelle, tiger steak, and beef filet. The mixed seafood was good, large portion, the snapper was a bit flat, not much of the bissap flavor. Between the two medallion fillets, I liked the tiger steak, with a taste of tamarind. The cuts were tender, and medium rare. It was fillet, but not really medallion. The pesto was tasty, more sweet than basil, no evidence of pine nuts. We ordered a side of Roquefort, twice, for the steak, never arrived. The flag draft was very good, fresh and cold, but pricey at 5000cfa. Would be great if they also offered draft gazelle, the local brew. Realizing where I am, can’t complain, I ordered two drafts. No room for their fabulously looking deserts. Next time. Parking is a bit stressful there. They have a smiling attendant who insists you park in a very specific way. Super clean bathroom. The owner/manager does come around to each table asking how the meal is. An appreciated practice you see less often in fine dining establishments.

The Restaurant Le Lagon 1 in Dakar is an exceptional dining destination that combines the charm of a restaurant with the relaxing ambiance of a beach club. The establishment appears to be situated in a prime location, offering patrons stunning views of the ocean and a picturesque setting to enjoy their meals. The service at the restaurant was not up to par, with the staff being described as slow and medium in their approach. While this is a concern, it's essential to consider that the pace of service can vary depending on the time of day and the level of activity in the restaurant. The quality of the food appears to be the highlight of your dining experience, with the fish being particularly excellent. This is an excellent testament to the culinary skills of the restaurant's chefs and speaks to their ability to prepare fresh, delicious seafood dishes. Overall, the experience at Restaurant Le Lagon 1 in Dakar was positive. While the service may have been a bit slow, the quality of the food and the breathtaking location more than made up for any shortcomings in the service. The restaurant and beach club's outstanding qualities are undoubtedly worth a visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Dakar.

I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant today. Mind you, I’ve been coming here with my parents for as long as I can remember and have never had an issue—until today. Unfortunately, two servers decided to ruin what should have been a special day.

I invited eight friends to join me for a birthday lunch. Everything started off well, but it quickly became clear that those two servers had an attitude. One of them even took my friend’s plate before they had finished eating. Despite this, we tried to ignore it and enjoy the day.

After our meal, I blew out my birthday cake candles, and we stepped down to the beach to take a few pictures. When we returned, all of our belongings had been moved to a small chair, and when I asked about the cake, they told us, “Oh yeah, no, you can’t eat it here. We have another reservation at 8 PM.” It was only 6 PM at the time.

I told them we hadn’t even paid yet, so why would they move our things and reset the table? That’s when the two servers began verbally attacking us—for a full hour. They even called two of my male friends gay, which was completely uncalled for. Thankfully, we have everything on video.

To make matters worse, there were no managers on-site because it was their day off. So these two servers continued to harass us until we left.

I sincerely hope a manager sees this and contacts me directly. What we experienced was harassment, and it's completely unacceptable behavior toward paying customers. We should have refused to pay, but we still did—because we’re better than that. That said, this behavior will not be tolerated. They completely ruined...

I jst love Lagon for thier exceptional beauty and affordable services. Lagon offers a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The decor is inspired by coastal themes, featuring soft blues and natural textures that create a relaxing vibe. The lighting is dimmed perfectly, making it suitable for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff at Lagon is attentive and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. The service was prompt, with minimal wait times for our food. The menu is diverse, offering a mix of seafood and vegetarian options. I tried the grilled salmon, which was perfectly cooked and paired with a delicious lemon-dill sauce. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were well-balanced. My companion opted for the vegetarian risotto, which was creamy and flavorful, showcasing seasonal vegetables. Lagon boasts an impressive wine list, with selections that complement the menu well. The cocktail options are creative; I particularly enjoyed the signature Lagon Mojito, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service. While it’s not the cheapest option in town, the experience justifies the cost. Lagon is a delightful dining experience with a beautiful ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food. It's an ideal spot for seafood lovers and anyone looking for a relaxing meal. I would definitely recommend it and look forward...
