The place deserves a 1...the only reason for 2 are the firndly girls at the reception and the restaurant server who made exceptional effort with our group. ||Location- it's what works in favour of this hotel. Good location in a quiet street near key landmarks with everything in walking distance. No views at all though so from your room be ready to see others dirty laundry ||Rooms- the rooms were decent but not well maintained. We had an apartment and the carpets were full of stains, bed linen was washed but had stains on it and generally overall maintanence was poor.Window was broken and kettle looked like it was never washed. We had to clean it ourselves. One of our group had a shower that did not work and the hotel could not fix it for 3 days and did not offer any solution. The 1st day they said its fixed if not change ur room. By the time we tested the shower and said we will need to change the room that option was taken off the table and the hotel was unapologetically indifferent to the fact that their guests had to shower in other rooms! ||Housekeeping - the housekeeping was simply pathetic. All they literally did was dust off the bed and turn the covers and replace towels or fold wet ones and stuff them in the drawer. Dirty spoons glasses cups were left as is in the room. There was hair on the linen etc. When we requested reception we were told housekeeping happens only on day 2. And when we informed them that we were on day 2 ...well basically sticking to the pattern there was no action. ||Breakfast - the breakfast spread is decent but the room is a claustrophobic hole in the wall where ur chairs bang wit the table next to you and there is no space to move. |On day 2 at 10:45 ( breakfast ends at 10:30) a staff member came and told us that you get out now hotel staff has to eat. ||Staff and service - the reception staff was friendly but had limited solutions. The lady at breakfast was jus plain rude. The spa service ws decent but overpriced for belgrade rates ||Overall this isn't even a budget hotel for the rates they charge. Claims to be a 4 star but has service and quality of a 3 star at best. Would definitely not go back or recommend a stay unless you get fabulous...
Read moreDear future customers of the Savoy Hotel. This is some of our experience during the stay there. The staff was great and friendly, but the service wasn’t like the one described on Booking. At first, pay attention to the rooms. They are free of dust, but the carpet isn’t clean at all. Secondly, there aren’t any dental hygiene kits available in the rooms and only a single shower kit is available in a 2 person room. When I opened the trash bin in the bathroom, a wooden board from the sink just fell off somehow. They’ve got lamps on flex-cables in the rooms and those cables don’t work as intended - they’re not stiff enough. The room phone isn’t connected to the line. The mini bar only contained alcoholic drinks. The bathrobes don’t have any belts, so you have to hold them by hand to keep them from opening in the sauna.
They charge extra for breakfast (it costs 5€ per person) but they’ve no longer got a Swedish table available.
Spa... I know this is difficult time for all of us, but the spa doesn’t work properly. Only the sauna works, but not the jacuzzi, the steam bath and when I tried to turn on the shower it detached from the ceiling and water started leaking from it.
In my opinion it is too expensive when all of the above is taken into account and you could probably find a better hotel in the same...
Read moreHotel City Savoy is truly a hidden gem in Belgrade’s Stari Grad (The Old City). |I’ve had a pleasure to stay at this property for 2 nights while on a holiday break in Belgrade. Service was just excellent: all 3 receptionists I was dealing with were super welcoming and friendly, breakfast was generous (it was included in my rate) and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. |There was a small issue with a remote control, which was probably broken - it was reported to the reception and literally within 5-7 minutes a new one was brought to my room. |Spa was also included in the rate and I can highly recommend a jacuzzi! Just let the reception know 15 minutes before using a spa and they will prepare it for you. |The hotel is located on a walking distance from the Old Fortress, National Museum, main shopping streets and St Sava’s Cathedral. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes in the area also. |I will definitely stay at Hotel City...
