UPDATE: We love Moon Sushi, but for the first time we were a little disappointed. The food still tasted great but, it was cold. We ordered the Panko Chicken, Chicken and Mushrooms with Golden Curry, and the Miso. The service was a little slow although the staff were very friendly. I guess our food was prepared and sat in the window. We both agreed on two things: 1) The flavor was great. 2) It would have been superb had it not been cold.
We always give a restaurant that has a history of excellence with us a mulligan and we will Moon. Maybe they were short-staffed and the waitress was slammed and doing the best she could. We made a mistake by sitting next to windows and a group of four smokers joined another no other table with a couple of smokers. We like Moon and go in knowing we may have to tolerate a little smoke. The two of the guys were chain smoking and it was really rough. Next time we sit in the other section.
Here’s hoping our next visit get them back to 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 status.
UPDATE: Third time to eat in (we’ve had it delivered too) and it is still awesome sushi! The food is outstanding and the staff is too.
This is a go-to place for sushi.
I have had sushi in Japan, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, UAE, USA, and Italy and this restaurant has legitimate sushi and Japanese food.
Is it exactly like sushi in Japan? No, since all of the ingredients aren’t available. But they adapt and improvise and make doggone good sushi.
🌟for their menu selection of sushi, sashimi, and Japanese food. Everything I have had it wonderful. Miso is genuine and with some soba noodles worth the trip alone. 🌟 everything is made fresh by the order and tastes as good as it looks. 🌟great service by the waitstaff. They are friendly, helpful, and earn every cent they get paid and a tip to boot. 🌟great location right down from Trg Republica and easy to get to on bus 41, 65, 77, and 28. EK02 is also an option if you get off at Trg Republica and make a short walk down. Love the view from the windows too. 🌟downstairs is a nice, funky bohemian coffee bar but eat upstairs and go during off hours (11:00-2:00 is our favorite time) and no one is smoking. Great experience.
I could give a star for competitive pricing for the outstanding food. While expensive compared to China or Japan, more reasonable than the USA.
We love the place and will go back or order online for delivery.
A big shout out and thanks to the crew who cook and...

Read moreThe waiters are very polite, which is why this gets two stars. I’ve been eating at Moon Sushi for almost a decade. The last time I was there I found a fish bone in my sushi. At first I thought maybe it was a fingernail or piece of plastic..so I informed the waiter.
According to the chef it was a fish bone from the salmon which reflects very badly on the chef because it shows he didn’t clean the fish properly and of course I was only half way through the sushi.
Instead of entirely replacing or comping the order they brought me a complementary tea to save money..foolishly, I bit into another roll and guess what..another bone.
I told him when I asked for the check and showed him the second bone and he said he would give a discount, then offered me desert..
You could easily break a tooth or choke on these as they are very hard and sharp. I wasn’t able to finish my meal and I paid in full, no discount.
If there’s a problem, just fix the problem without offering an alternative. If the sushi is not edible, replace the sushi. If I’m ending up with sharp bones in my mouth, cover the bill.
It’s...
