Hotel Garni Expo — Hotel in Banská Bystrica

It is true that the owners are not always in the building and therefore you have to arrange an exact time of the arrival. I was pleasantly suprised that even that we were late we managed to get in touch with the owners who then came in only a few minutes to open. I was afraid that next day we will be leaving the accommodation at 6 AM which might cause a problem. I was pleasantly surprised when they arranged everything so we could leave so early. The only thing that I would take as a disadvantage was that the receptionist did not speak English and that there was no kettle to boil hot water in the morning. However, they were very friendly and even though I called them probably 5 times they were very pleasant and answered all of my questions. We booked this pension in for 1 night in july 2014. We also arranged with them that we will come around 4 pm. Unfotunately we arrived at 5 pm. When we arrived the whole pension was closed, noone came opened the door or picked up calls. We try to call also on mobile but of course noone picked up also that phone. I have say we felt very dissapointed and betryed as we count on this accomodation. As I said, our reservation was confirmed also by phone by them and also we´ve already arranged approx. arrival time. After this we had to quickly look for something else what was not easy as it was summer holidays and friday evening and most of accomodation was already taken. I don´t recommend this...

My wife and I stayed here while visiting family in Bystrica. We loved the decor of the room and rest of building. The room was very affordable and short walk formt he town centre with amazing sites and views. There is also a really nice breakfast room with a outdoor garden area. The thing we will most remember about or experience here is the staff and how friendly they were.
